Which Iphone applications are the most useful?

Being a Iphone newbie the most pressing question I have is perhaps which app is download-worthy. I can sometimes spends hours on the itune website going through the millions of apps thinking which ones to download.

I'm not an i phone user but have you played the zynga poker on facebook? They have this i phone app for the same, playing poker online on an i phone would be so cool

I would say WhatsApp is a great application because it allows for free text messages so long as both you and your receipient are connected to wireless internet. Another one I like (all those that I currently have are free, so no worries about price here) is polarize, which makes your photos look like polaroid prints. And a free game I absolutely love is Blowfish. make big puffer fish from keeping your finger on the screen and try to avoid the increasing number of sea urchins who threaten to pop your puffer fish to bitS! enjoy these apps, my friend!
