Although I know that do exercise/ sports is important for our health, but I seldom do it. I always have many excuses or just lazy to do so. Many people, not aware until they are sick or diagnosed have some diseases, then just start doing exercises or jogging or swimming everyday.Do you just like me neglect the importance of doing exercise/sports to keep ourselves healthy?

Yes..your mum is right...I have read about diet's aticles, you can not over do it. You have to notice many aspects, dont just avoid eating meat or whatever, the importance is the balance of the food you consume and exercise...but I read it quite sometime and now I forgot about the details....Just find out more with others mylot's friends......

Now i do not do any exercise. But the way I have exercised my body during childhood makes me healthy till today. I did no take part any sports. but I was swimming hours together in a well in my childhood. I walked about 3 kms up and 3kms down every day. I used to claim small hill in my village. But now if I am asked to walk about 10 to 15 Kms , I can walk without hesitation or without any physical problem.

Hallo ...friend...since you like to do exercise, you had better do it regularly.....you'll see the effect more obvious rather then you do it occasionally....Do you agree with me? I used to play badminton twice a week, but I stopped because of lack of time. I will try to start it again....

Hi Asanlee,
During the past year, I was very active in brisk walking and playing badminton. I alternately did these two things on days. Work and other concerns distract me these past few months and I rarely went to the sports center to exercise. I am bent on going back to my exercise next month after I do away with all the annual reports that currently make me busy.

Yes, I have learned to love badminton since I started playing 3 years ago. It is a quick game. It alerts the body and the mind. You get to move and run. There is much physical activity on the arms and you get to use your strength to hit the ball.
I missed playing badminton ... next month, hopefully! Have a nice day.

I used to work out every day when I was in college and I loved it, but that was 6 years ago and I haven't worked out much since then. Life is just way too busy, and I'm so tired by the time I get home from work.
I used to get some exercise because I worked in a city (Philadelphia) and would walk around the city on my lunch break and before/after work, so I probably walked a minimum of an hour a day, every day. Now I work in the suburbs, though, and there it's not safe to walk around my office (it's off a big road, and there aren't any sidewalks, etc.).
I'm trying to change jobs right now, and as soon as I do, I'm planning to start taking yoga classes. I really miss getting regular exercise, and taking a class will hopefully motivate me to do it on a regular basis. I figure if I sign up at a place in between my office and home, I'll have to pass it on my way home, so I won't be likely to skip it (lol). Plus, yoga is relaxing, so it'll be a good way to unwind from my work day!

I really want to, but first I need a new job :-( I can't afford to do it right now, and I am working a full-time job (that's an hour and a half commute, one way!) and a part-time job on nights and weekends, so I have no time to stick to a schedule even if I could afford it :-(
But as soon as I get a new job, I will definitely sign up!

Hi nautilus, I don't do exercise too, I always told myself I did do exercise everyday, that is when I am working. When I start working, I need to walk a lot untill I finish my job. Every time after I worked, I will feel very tire, then I will be lazy to move my finger anymore.

For the sake of health, one should have a healthy lifestyle. That does not include only exercise alone. It includes a behavioural change in lifestyle and habits. It is recommended to have 30 mins of exercsie a day. For one who is used to a sedentary lifestyle, taking up an exercise or sport may be too intimidating and demotivating, especially if one need to do it for 30 mins at a go. For a start, one may split the 30mins exercise into 6 5-min exercises or 3 10-min exercises. Some examples are walk instead of drive, climbing the stairs, walking the dog, clearing the garage, doing housework etc. Hope above helps.

i live in a small city, but in our city there are bike lanes. so it is not dangerous to ride a bike and you will not pass on the pattern where the cars are passing. our town mayor encourage everybody to ride the bike as it is good for the health. the only problem is when it is really hot and the sun is striking.

Hallo friend...riding bike will be useful in an environment with fresh air. On the road with polluted air will be harmful ...and a bit dangerous on the road, you cant even relax if too many cars around....Maybe I think your place is a clean and beautiful country, so you can enjoy doing this as an exercise. In my town, the traffic's quite terrible not suitable to do this kind of exercise.....anyway Happy riding!!!

I almost do sports once a week.I surely believe that doing sports is useful to our health.Maybe you still feel you are at good state even if you do not do any sports, but i believe that you may be at subhealthy state. So i suggest you doing some sports as long as you are avialable.

Hiya asanlee,
I´m still working on getting fitter rather than sit around although the Winter makes it more depressing and makes me more lazy too. But I still try and do something different every day apart from walking round and round. Being fit is very important I know but you have to establish a habit and make it a thing you want to do also and that is quite difficult.

Hiya asanlee,
Does it never snow where you are? Well I imagine not but it is´nt that much fun unless you have the time to say throw Snowballs at each other slide down a slope on a plastic bag things like that. I am a bit lazy too so I have to work at it on the exercise mainly just doing anything I can move around to music.

Hallo...friend ....I never experience Winter, I think it is very cool. If I am in that kind of environment , I believe I will do a lot of exercises like you do. I agree that we have to be consistent to do everything, not only upon this thing, then we will able to see the result. So dont forget to keep your plan going....while the spring is coming.....

I try to exercise everyday. Well weekdays anyway. Lately I have not been doing it like I know I should. If I don't do it first thing in the morning, I won't do it at all. I have a physical problem, and exercise is supposed to keep it from degenerating faster. Sometimes I think I am just bored with the exercises I do. I do have two different routines that I do on alternate days, to ward off getting bored but it doesn't seem to work any more. I have gone to physical therapy a few times and I get some new exercises from that. If nothing else, it is a different way to exercise.
My New Years resolution was to exercise more. So far, I haven't kept it. I keep making excuses to stay in bed instead of getting up and exercising.

I have a physical handicap and can't really change the location that I exercise in. I have been thinking it is time to change my routine. The last time I went to therapy, she gave me enough exercises to do that I broke it up into two days. That way at least I am not doing the same thing everyday. That was awhile ago though and I think I need a change again. I keep telling myself I will do it tomorrow morning and then when the alarm goes off I don't want to get up. I think the fact that it's so cold has something to do with me wanting to stay in bed where it's warm.
My back and arm have been hurting so sometimes that limits the things that I can do. I fell today and now my ribs are hurting so I don't know what I'll feel like in the morning.

Hallo...friend...since you know exercise is good for you, for the sake of yourself and your family, dont make any excuses anymore. Let's wake up and do it. If you are boring with it, maybe you can change the environment , what I mean is change the other place to do it...maybe it will be more refreshing....Just try it....No more excuses, please....

I do not neglect doing exercises, since our family has a history of diabetes. I started swimming again 10 yrs. ago when my mother's diabetes (Type 2) was diagnosed to Type I (Insulin). I have enjoyed it ever since and in fact, improved my swimming skills.
You can do simple exercises such as stretching and walking around to be able to integrate exercise to your daily routine then eventually add more such as running, biking and going to the gym. Good luck.

I do it (swimming) during weekends and swam 3000 meters. Proper diet is also key to at least prevent diabetes. Good luck.

I try to walk a few times a week. It helps me
that I have a dog she will try to get me to
walk. It also gives me company as I walk. I
have not walked much since it has been cold.
The weather is warming up, so I should be
able to get back at it.
Have a good day.

I work out at least a few times a week. I almost feel like I am obligated to do so because there is a gym and pool at my work and it is all free for me to use. I really don't have an excuse not to! It does make me feel better and more relaxed, so I guess I am starting to get in the habit and not force myself to do it.

I just realize the importance of health in December last year. that's why I headed off to gym near my office and register myself for a year membership. I paid quite a lot of money for it to encourage me to hit the gym regularly. I already paid for it so I don't want my money wasted. Sometimes it needed some sacrifice to get results.

There are times that I neglect myself in these terms. However, for the most part I don't neglect myself. I love to turn on my Wii and play some of the fitness games that I have and I also like to spend time with my Biggest Loser workout videos. These things are like therapy to me. Additionally, I also like to hike and to ride my bike with my children. There are a lot of exercise type of things that I like to do and because of the fact that many of them are things that we are able to do as a family it makes it a much more positive part of my life.

Hallo...friend...Play football once a week is good enough but you have to be consistent...or do it regularly. As we are too busy with our work, and dont have enough time so I think even just an hour of exercise/sport that we do consistently will help to keep us healthy, rather than none at all. Dont you think so?

No, i know the health is the most import thing in the world, so i take exercise as much as i can.
I go to work by bike instead of taking a bus ,it takes me 1 hours per day. But when i arrived work place, i have seldom chance to take exercise, the work is busy, i need to sit in front of my computer to handle them....so, friends, take more exercise as much as you can.
