luxury restaraunts often offer some strange meals that are a kind of symbol of the society rank of the clients. It is really very prestigious to eat raw oysters and other things like that. Phu I cant even imagine it - this mucous creature sliding into your throat. Well probably I just dont have test and cant estimate these refined delicacies but I really doubt that someone really likes eating such things. Well of course there should be people who like it but I surpose most of them just fallow the fashion and they are ready to to anything just to show their "blue blood" OK that is their right, but I wonder what could happen if someone bring in a fashion of eating cow dirt...

eww... cow dirt .... lol that would be terrible.lol
but i dont think eating something is a fashion. people eat what they like. i dont eat raw mussels. and the reason is i dont like em, and i find it gross.
people have different food habits. some japaneese food even fight back after they go into the tummy. lol but japaneese still eat it , because they like to eat it.

yes yes i agree people have differente habits and i know in most of the countries that is a matter of tradition but I really think eating sometimes is a fashion - just like clothing. And I am sure if some movie shows some famous actor eating something disgusting (well maybe not cow dirt but something else) many will follow this pattern even if they dont like it

Hello bgangelrs,
raw oysters is not so bad as you think. Have you ever tried it before? Hehe... I like to eat it sometimes when I eat out... dip it in lime juice and chili so you wont smell the "mucousness".
I don't think it is a fashion or anything, it's just that because it can be eaten and it is actually delicious.

I never eat anything raw... anything that was living and breathing. I am not a great fan of seafoods, but only seeing them in raw state can make me ....
There are poeple who consider them delicasies and there are culture where they are considered as common food. I am glad that I am in neither of these two categories
