Simple question, but its so true isn't it? You want your topic to be somekind of a hot topic of the year. One of my friend told me this, "in mylot, at first you've to start by replied to many topics, add all people in thosetopic to your friend list. So that, when you start a new topic, they'll know" Are you agree with that kind of strategy? Well yes, it works, but is it really necessary? What about you? Do you have your own efficient and effective strategy? Share here please.

That is so true. As a newbie, try to respond to as many discussions as possible to make your presence felt here. Create your own circle of friends by requesting for friends. Create a goodwill by supporting your friends discussions and they will reciprocate your kinds deeds by coming to your future discussions. Don't expect to earn instant popularity as it will take time make your name known to all. So participate actively here.

I find it very hard to come up with a topic of discussion, interesting enough to get a lot of reaponse. I have never had as many as some users who get well over 100. I never even come close. Of course with that many responses it would be harder to keep up with all the respnses to even comment back. I don't start all that many discussion for that reason, as I just don't do a very good job of coming up with topics that will even get responses. I am really thankful for all the responses I do get though. Good luck to you and happy mylotting.

Same with you, I rarely post my own discussion. The reason is there are lots of topics that are already posted so it seems hard to think for a fresh topic. But when I come up to an idea, I post it as early as I can before the others might post it. It takes time to manage a discussion with lots of responses as I try to reply on all of them but there are times that when some of the responses come with similar thought, I just redirect some to read my other post to avoid repeated posting, I experienced getting my comments deleted when I tried to reply on all of them on that situation. You are right, pedeadjie! It's easier to stay on some topics than to post a few lines on a discussion then jump on another because by doing the first one, attention will be focused on a particular topic. Having friends can also help because they can easily see the discussions posted by friends and you have a good chance of getting more responses.

Hi pedeadjie, The more you are known the more responses your discussion generates. But sometimes an interesting discussion generates a lot of interest and responses. So it is the combination of the two. Have good interesting, every day topics that are identified by the members and take part in others discuyssions ....starting with those who respond to your discussions. It is a matter of gand take like anywhere else in life ...All the best to you and have a great weekend

Hi kiran. Thanks for replying this topic. I can't agree with you more. You're perspective is so true. Bringing, some simple and lighter topic that anyone can response is easier to draw replies. Topic regarding to life, love, or relationship is the easiest I guess. Since everybody have life, love, and relationship issues to discuss I bet, so all of mylotters can join in that topic. Thanks for sharing.

I seem to make the discussion less interesting, so I do not have a strategy to get lots of responses and I rarely make a discussion, perhaps I can only respond. The best you do is collect as many friends that one day you get a lot of responses there. Maybe you'll spend the good ideas and develop your talents in writing a novel.

Hi May2k8. Thanks for replying this topic. But, no, I wont start making any novel. Lol. I just love to discuss with others, for me and others good (such a sweet statement huh?). Lol. Well, yes having as many friends as you can is helping, but I dont find it really effective. Not all my friend have same interests as mine. I think bringin simple and light topic that anyone can understand, is easier to draw many responses. Thanks for sharing, btw.

Hello there! Well, the strategy that you had posted can also help because in that way, you will be recognized by users here and they will also try responding on your discussions. In addition to that, make sure that you post a fresh and interesting topic. Before starting a discussion, use the search box above to check if the topic you want to post is already posted by other users. If it is, try viewing your topic in a different angle. In that way, posting duplicate topics will be avoided, as well as post deletion. Try to manage your discussion by replying on the responses you received, that strategy can attract more users because they noticed that you are keeping your discussion active. Try to go back and check for new responses and reply again, just like chatting, keep the conversation go on. The type of topics that can get more responses, a friend had told about it, is those that are situational. It is because the topic might be encountered by more users here and they can easily post their views about it as they can apply it in reality. You can also join the 'race' of posting controversial topics. When posting such kind of discussions, try to be the first one to post it or else, it will be deleted due to duplicate topics, some users take the risk, just for fun. The last factor could be luck. I hope it helps, have a nice day!

After posting the ways on how to get more responses in a nice way, now I will post those that are not and the reasons why a topic get less responses. As I noticed before, short topics or those that lacks or nothing of substance can still get more responses, but when you read the entire discussion, the posts are not that serious, just a part of fun as they know that the topic will be deleted later due to violation. A discussion gets only few responses when only few users can relate to or familiar with the topic. Another reason could be the title and the way how the discussion is delivered. If the subject is not explained well, it might get only few responses as it seems hard to answer it when the topic is not clear. When the question is too hard to answer or the discussion is limited for a particular area, for example, events on a specific country or region, it might get less responses. Now that I posted about the both sides on getting responses, you can determine if you can get more responses based on the strategy you applied. I hope this part can also help.

Hi boogerman. Thanks for replying to this topic. I'm now following your advice by replying all the responses I've got here. I can't believe, that this topic can draw 8 responses. Lol. A good start I guess. But you see, except that you have many times to waste, replying 8 responses is a pain. What about them, that have more than 100 responses. God, they must have some "typing addicted syndrome" I guess. Lol. Once again, thanks for sharing. ;)

Yes, that was a good start. That could be a pain at first but you can also make more as you keep on doing that. That syndrome can be acquired as you enjoy what you are doing here. It's not a waste of time as you can also earn from that. Remember that short posts will not be paid so when replying to the responses you got, post it with quality and you will notice that it is an easier way to earn in discussions rather than to leave a single post on a discussion and jump on another. As I posted on my comment above, it is because your attention will be focused on certain subjects so you can easily give your views on it. No pain, no gain but you can gain without pain in here when you enjoy posting.

Hello pedeadjie me too believe that here at mylot an simple and quality subject can attract most of the responses. The topic subject must be more common between all the mylotters, even interesting one to all.Mostly i do depend upon my mylot friends and all mylotter for responses to my discussion apart from its quality and commonness.Well think the more friends you make here at mylot the more responses you may acquire, with our quality content subjects.Anyways keep it up with your participation at mylot, Happy mylotting.

There's a part of that strategy that doesn't sound that effective for me. Many people request my friendship, but that doesn't mean that I'm going to look at the topics they start, as I only look at the ones that interest me. I see often the same topic started by 10 different people or more, and I don't feel like answering to the same thing that many times, so being able to create something new is a good way to get replies too.

Hi madteaparty. Thanks for replying this topic. Well, it might be not effective, but still it helps right. At least, you're seeing what you're friends started, Sothe only problem is how to start an interesting topic, that match your friends interest. Because sometimes I found it useful though. It help me to have a new friend, not just a friend, but a partner, they'll replied most of my topic i've start.
