I have wanted to get in shape for the last couple of months, I have a wedding to go to in June and I would really like to loose 40-60 pounds. Unfortunately it is really hard for me to find time to work out and I am lucky if I can even find the time to take my dog for a 30 minute walk. I was reading a magazine yesterday and it said that it was possible to loose 2 dress sizes in a month. I am not sure if I believe the article but I am really going to try. I am also going to try to make sure that my family and I eat more healthy foods and less junk. I know that that is a very big part of my weight issue. it's mostly because of all the unhealthy snacks that we have in the house and that is about to change. What about you? Have you tried to loose weight? If you did, how much did you loose? Did you find it easy or hard? Did you work out too? Did you change the kinds of foods that you ate, or did you just change the portions of food? I need as much advice as I can get. Hope to hear some great stories.

To pump your spirit, I would say that there's nothing impossible if you're working on it. The most common problem for a person who's reducing weight is the discipline while working out and dieting. Sometimes, after a little weight has been reduced, people would feel that they need to grant themselves a treat, and that could be a big feast which would lead to the broken diet program. I am not on the weight reducing program now, but I am working out to reduce the dress size. I have big thighs and butts and I need to make my body looks more proportional now. It is true to get to the goal I need to do some diets too, but I don't think the excessive diets would be wise. If you're in the weight reducing programs, try to avoid food with too much oil and fat. Change the carbohydrate with more protein, and try not to take anything which was fried and too sweet and too salty. Drink more water and consume green tea to help your metabolism. Good luck

Hi, I agree with almost everything you said.Certainly, you have to move more, and eat healthy food. But I don`t agree that you should avoid fat.Well, let me correct, avoid bad fat.But kee eating good fat. Put more avocado, olive oil, flaxseeds into your food. It`ll keep you energise, full for longer, and you teach your body to use fat as first choice of fuel.

Oh, it is probably possible to lose that much weight, but you would probably not feel very good. You will be making a great start by getting rid of those unhealthy snacks. Cutting back a lot on sodium,(salt) can make you lose a lot of water weight and bloat really fast.Eat high fiber food to feel full and to keep things moving if you know what I mean. Cut back on "white foods" that is, refined carbohydrates like white sugar, and white flour. Avoid trans fats and high fructose corn syrup. I watched a lot of info mercials today, of course a lot of them talked about weight loss. They want to sell you gadgets, gimmicks, and pills, often. What I saw today that looked good you can copy with no real expense. The most sane and logical thing I saw involved a fitness program that uses a weighted ball. In the old days they called it a "medicine ball". When you work out, you do so with that ball in hand, swinging it, and using it kind of like weights. It speeds your metabolism and tones you like weight training. I have also read articles about using "kettle bells" the same way. I would say to you, walk that dog, and if you have them, put on ankle weights. Use the same weights on your wrists when you clean. Save a milk jug and fill it with water. Use like a kettle bell. A one gallon jug filled with water is equivalent to eight pounds, a half gallon is four. Really, though, is weight more important, or size. You may turn your body fat into muscle, lose two sizes, and find that you actually weigh more, as muscle weighs more than fat. If you choose healthier things to do and eat, you will look more toned and have a more radiant appearance and will look fabulous. I hope you succeed.

It's possible but it will take dedication and it most likely will not be very good for you to lose so much weight too quickly. The thing is if you change your diet, eat healthy by the book and work out three times a week, most people only lose 1-2 pounds a week. If you are looking to lose that much weight you will need to do something much more drastic than just eating healthy. Just make sure whatever it is won't affect your health adversely.

My boyfriend recently lost 60 lbs in 4 months. It was really hard. He was out of work, so he had the time to do 2 hard workouts each day. He also watched what he ate. He drank a lot of juice and milk during the day, and only one solid meal, at night. If he was working full time while trying to lose weight he would not have been nearly as successful. To answer your question, yes, I think it is possible. But I don't think it's safe.

It is possible, but it also isn't healthy. The recommended weight loss is like they said, 1-2 lbs in a week. So 40 lbs in a month is rather drastic, and some people who have lost this much of weight in a really short time tends to eat more afterwards and gain weight much more easily. I have tried losing weight before, 10 lbs in a month. I ate just about anything but counted my calorie intake. I also had a daily exercise routine to burn those calories off.

Weight loss is all about creating healthy habits, you need to chenge your lifestyle. A healthy diet is the key to lose weight. You asked us, if is possible to loose 40 pounds (18 kg) in 2 months, my personal opinion is that this is wrong. Why ? Because you didn't gain 40 pounds in 2 months, you gained them in several years, so you should loose weight in time. According to ACSM a healthy weight loss is 1-2 pounds pes week, faster weight diets ar not healthy because your body will self-destruct by loosing muscle tissue. So find a diet that suits your lifestyle and you will loose weight. Good luck !

I have tried all sorts of diet that promises to shed the extra pounds but have never successfully made it. It is either I am not persistent or expecting fast result too fast and when I don't see result fast enough I lose hope and drop the diet regime immediately. I wish to hear more of your responders that have met success with dieting. Yes, I need to remove the bulges fast as I am too tired of carrying them around and giving me an ugly sight.

Stop dieting. After each diet you finished, you end up with less muscle( wich actualy burn calories) and more fat. Do yourself a favour, and STOP DIETING. Healthy eating, plenty of veg, plenty of fruit, white meat, wholemeal pasta, rice, sweet potatoes....Cut the junk food.Cut sweet drinks. You`ll have more energy and you`ll feel better.I have a few client that could say I am right on this one. Dont go on diets.Eat healthy..

I can only speak from personal experience. I was able to lose about 20 lbs in a month after one of my pregnancies, but after that the weight loss slowed down a lot. I'm not sure if it's possible to do that two months in a row, but good luck. I hope you make your goal. I ate less and exercised more basically. I counted calories and I walked a lot.

Yes I believe it is possible to lose 40lbs in just 45 days. With balance diet and right exercises regularly i think you can achieve that. You should have discipline the food your eating mores on green leafy foods, fruits, protein like meat and fish and less carbohydrates.

first of all,you have some great motivation there, use it. You have also a great goal,to lose weight and to make changes to your life style. That what it is all about. Eating is a huge part of it. No junk food, no sweet drinks, etc. Have a look on paleo diet. It is a great way of eating, healthy eating. It is not diet.Diets don`t work, and I would advise you to stay away from any crash diets. Change your eating habits, exercise more, you will lose weight. It is possible. My client droped a dress size in 5 weeks. She did 1 session in the gym with my,and 2 on her own. You don`t need a lot of time for exercising. It more dipense, how you exercise, how you push yourself. Increase your heart rate, keep active. If you go for a walk, play with a speed,go faster,slower,faster,slower... Use stair instead of lifts. If you go to shopping centre, park in the far corner, carry your bags,etc..it`ll all help. And get a help.Ask professionals, what to do. Get a personal trainer. They could come to you, work around your hour. It is possible to do it,you just have be willing to make a changes. It is in your will power to reach your goals.

It’s a good idea to have an idea of the calories that most food items have. If it is a packed thing then the label is sure to have the calories that the substance has.
