How to get ideas for creative writing?

Pick something you have knowledge in and are interested in to write about. If you are going to try to be creative you need to have a base for your creativity. Jot down lots of ideas and then mind map the ideas into some logical series of events. Write a rough draft and allow others to read it. Be prepared for constructive criticism and make improvements based on the feedback you receive.
