We all know about the tragic earthquake that took place there, and about the victims, but i wanted to talk about something positive, a message i got from a gaming site that made me smile. They said that all their earnings from today (Saturday) will go out 100% to the help of the Haiti Victims and families.
Do you know of campaigns of helping the victims of Haiti, even if the company has no benefits from it ?
Do you help in any way for victims of tragic accidents (like these for example) ?
What do you think about this kind of initiative ? Would it encourage you to buy more ?

Hi, you know how much in our country is use this "slogan"...maybe are just empty words, but if they make this, mean that they know about what happened there, they want make something, or just try to remember others that they must think that tomorrow can be in same situation...i am one who, i ll give half of mt earnings for this people who lose everything, i am one, who if you ask me half of my bread, i will give you, because my bread don t have any reason to eat it, if i know that you don t have a bread on your table...benefits are not so much important, as idea to make something for this poor people who don t have something in this moment

I know what you mean, but this is not a company from our country :) This is a small international company of software games, and it is a big deal as they are not very rich to start with. I don't have that much money in my paypal account, else i would have bought plants and zombies from them :) I really loved that game, and i think it deserves to buy the originals you really love.

Haiti Earthquake is a tremendous disaster people have suffered so far. Every day when I read news about it, I was so upset back to then like when the WenChuan Earthquake happened in China with so many people having lost their lives and family members, leaving them homeless. Back to the year of 2008 when the earthquake happened, I donated to help those needy. It makes me happy that I could something to help those who need help. Take care, elitess.

It's good to know that everyone is pitching in. Nothing will help, however, until those people rise up and revolt against their dictators that sit in palaces while their people live in tarpaper shacks. I'm willing to bet the people that run the country will get the benefit of the cash donations and many of the goods we send.
I would not buy more from a company that is donating profits, I would make a direct contribution to a charity that will keep my money out of the hands of the Haitian government and distribute it to the people.

I think that is a great cause and this initiative is most welcome at this time of need. Haiti is the poorest nation in the Western Hemisphere and then to face something as devastating as this, is just horrible. I am glad that companies like these are doing the right thing and I hope, more people and companies get out and do more.
I have helped such victims. We had a horrible earthquake in our neighboring state. Aid workers did a lot of relief work and I helped all that I could. Money, clothes, utensils- mainly.
It would encourage me to buy.

They need so much help over there, the conditions werent good before the quake and now so much worse. More big coorporate companies need to start doing more to help. It was really bad in US when we had harricanes and flooding in midwest and look how long its taking us to get things rebuilt. I cant even imagine how long it will take them to rebuild without alot of help!

If I could only travel to reach the victims, I have to b, because it would make a difference in the lives of the people. To give them support in their struggle to survive and look forward to living a more comfortable and contented people who savor the kindness and extend helps also to others who might undergo same tragic experiences.
To me, I could only extend my help through prayers that everything would turn out right. To the victims, I hope and pray that God will shower you with much blessings and love for all of you to live a normal and happy life again. Don't lost hope for God will never forsake you. He had a purpose in everything that may come our way. Sometimes, it is just a wake up call for all of us, maybe to remind us of somethings we might be forgetting or tell us something that we may prepare ourselves in any event that may come our way. God bless you all.

Oh how nice. They picked a wonderful day to do this since it's also my birthday.
I havent heard of an unrelated company that have pledged 100% of their earnings for a day or for an event. I mean aside from those non-profit organizations, charities, and other companies who have always given a part of their earnings to a foundation, there arent that many companies that would do that. Sure, most would give a very generous donation but they wouldnt give everything.
I dont know where to give specifically for the Haiti victims. I have donated something to local Child Welfare and Animal Welfare organizations. I sure hope that could help somehow.

That is such a nice thought and so straght from the heart. Maybe the players of world of warcraft can do something like that as well. But we all just need to pray for those who had such a bad time. I personally hope that all of us, should do anything possible to make their life, Haiti Victims, a bit easier.
