Hi friends, I have a comp with an amd processor. When I play high definition videos or copy large data, the temperature of my processor goes high and when it reaches about 70 degrees it will turn off automatically. Why is this so? I checked my processor fan, it is working perfectly. What should I do now?

A couple of things... there may be an auto-shut off in the BIOS, you could change the shut-off temp, but obviously the shut-off is there to protect the PC... You could upgrade your fan and/or check that the thermal paste is intact... Get some thermal paste before you attempt this - it's not very expensive from eBay - remove the fan and check, but the very fact you are removing the fan may mean you have to replace the paste anyway... So the fix-all solution would be to get a bigger and better fan... make sure the one you go for is compatible with your CPU and will fit onto your motherboard

AMD processor are notoriously famous for its temperature. They are fast alright, but in return they can be heated so hot that forces the them to shut off. I would check your computer applications first. Install a freeware called Ccleaner, remove the stuff that you no longer use. In Ccleaner, you can also select the applications that you want to start, and deselect the applications that you do not want to start with your computer. I hope this help.

Hi, Phadagour. Is the fan installed in other place or on motherboard?
