as we go on mylotting, we find all sorts of different posts, some of them are small, and some of them are long.
so when tou open a discussion page, do you completely real the whole post if it is too long?
i sometimes skip the posts that are too long when i am in a hurry.
so, do you read the whole of it?

Yes I read long posts and short posts and one liners, everything. I also read a lot of discussions where I never respond either. I move on to sdomething else.
I read all the responses here too and I decided to respond to let you know something that you might not have realised...
Unless you comment on these responses, you are not going to earn anything for this discussion - because it is not a discussion until you do. It is only a question with some answers. You only earn for what you type here, not for what others post so they will earn for the responses not you.

I said it to you here because you seem to have missed the point
You have three pages of responses and you could earn a lot, both in cash and friends, by commenting back to all of them. Lotters are more likely to return to your future discussions too if you acknowledge their responses

Hi, wizteen
Don't hurry, if what they say is reasonable, i will read the whole of it.

For me it depends on how long the post is and how interesting the discussion is. If it is something I am not hugely interested in I will move on to find better and quicker discussions to contribute to.

I tend to look at the title and decide from that whether or not to respond. If their post is only short i always read them but if it is long i tend to just quickly scan over it. Unless i find the title very interesting and want to read more and see what the person who started the discussion has to say on that particular subject :D

I dont mind reading and responding to a long discussion as long as its worth reading. Just by reading the title you will know if you will read it until the end. I also post long discussions sometimes.

HOnestly, reading long posts takes time, so what I do is skim and scan and try to get the gist of the post. Otherwise, I just skip it because it is useless to respond to it if you haven't read it in full.

it really depends on who posted it. some people just like to go on and on about nothing. and then you have those who post really great post that just so happen to be a bit long. so it depends on who posted that topic.

It depends. If the topic of discussion demands a long reply, then I go through the response and see what the person has to say. If someone gives a long response for a small question, then obviously it's not worth reading all.

If I am interested in the subject, I will definitely read the whole post. It's the best way to understand what is being written than to assume by only reading the post's title, which can sometimes lead to misunderstanding and offensive comments. I understand what you mean when sometimes you just skip the discussions that are too long. I do that once in a while, but believe me, if you have the time, just go back and read. Some of them are worth to discuss.

Hello wizteen me too often do respond to such long discussions, its more interesting as more knowledge is involved in it.Yeah mostly at mylot its all over the quality discussions and an long post just simplifys its meaning.Well me too few times have less time, but still am not skipping any discussions of my like or my interest.Mosty i respond to an discussion by its content and its subject and not by its quantity.Anyways keep on with participation at mylot, Happy mylotting.

Hi Wizteen,
It is not the length of the post that makes me decide to respond or not. If I find it interesting and worthy, I read it through. I also take time to read all other responses. I even get back to the topic after I post my comment to check if something still needs to be commented on.

It depends on the theme for me. Sometimes the author really wants to say something important and interesting. And that's why in most of the cases I read the whole post. I also need the information to post my own opinion or suggestion. Well, sometimes I don't read the whole post. But it's only when it's predictable.

i really don't mind reading. It's the long ones that are worth while. Much easier to respond because of it's descriptive details.

Hi there wizteen!
Yes, I also read long posts. Before even responding, I make sure that I have read the entire article. You know, just to make sure that I am reacting correctly. There are long articles that are very interesting. That is why even if it is longer than usual discussions, I will read and respond.

Because I generally come on here just once a day I have gotten into a routine that I usually seek out some indepth discussions when I first get on here, those long ones which often require a decent amount of thought to construct a worthy response. But like others have mentioned sometimes I will read a long discussion and then decide I have nothing of relevance to respond to it with. Once I have tackled a few meaty discussions I generally then target the easier shorter ones as some light relief.
But it all depends on what you come on here for as if you are not keen on getting into a deep discussion then often those long posts are not for you.

If what the person is saying is interesting and I can relate to it, then it doesn't matter really how long it is, I"ll always take a peek.
I know I normally write long responses, and lonter posts as well I suppose.
But hey, we're here not only to make a few nickels, but to jibber jabber as well - so why not!?

I certainly do. Some of the best discussions I have responded to have long posts. The poster has taken the trouble to provide background to the discussion, and the background information is very useful in helping to formulate a response. I'm never in too much of a hurry to read a quality post, whether it's a discussion, a response or a comment. We have some very gifted people here om MyLot - it's worth taking the time to track them down.

There are times where I try to avoid longer posts. Its not anything personal. I just want to get the full experience out of them and might not have the time to carefully read them. I do not want to skim over the post. That way I can miss key points that the poster was trying to make. So longer posts are something that I tend to avoid getting into when I am stressed for time. Most of the time, but there are times where I delve into those posts and they can be rather informative.
