Are You Adventurous Or Do You Play It Safe?

Would you or have you tried anything for the experience and thrill, even it if was scary or a little bit risky?
I jumped out of a plane once. Now, mind you, I wouldn't say I am scared of heights, but I do have a healthy respect for them. I prefer some kind of buffer zone between me and wide open spaces, so climbing out on the strut of a plane and just dropping into air was simultaneously terrifying and exhilarating. Of course, I was attached to a static line which automatically opened my chute. I ended up missing the target area (that was a scary moment as I flew past that big white X on the ground) and landed in a tree where they had to climb up and get me out.
BUT I did it! I have never skydived since and have no aspirations to do it again, but what a helluva experience!

i don't think i'm adventurous enough. i like to play it safe most of the times. there would be things i would try at least once just to experience the thrill, but not very often i get to do that.
once, while traveling to do a research activity, we pass by an area quite known for butanding (whale shark) interaction. it was a weekend and no work. and we have ample time to play and relax a bit. my american companions wanted to get a tan too while we are on the boat. i don't swim much at all and quite happy enough in the boat catching the breeze and the sights. we went to where our guide has spotted the whalesharks and i guess it was pretty exhausting being in the open waters even for seasoned swimmers like my companions. watching from the boat is pretty scary at one point and exciting too because the whalesharks are much bigger than our boat. even if we knew that they are gentle creatures, the enormity of their size made it quite scary still. on our way back to the mainland the guide spotted another whaleshark, much much bigger, but my companions were already exhausted to have another go at it. i was encouraged to at least try it that once.
i did.
i don't swim... yet i was in open waters. i almost freaked out coz it was really cold. and then there it was... up close and quite personal... i mean very very close. so close that the spots are very vivid.
back in the boat it looked pretty scary from how they looked at it because my back was to the whaleshark and the large shark's fin was coming straight towards me.
i'm glad i have that experience. but i'll think twice to go on such trip again without learning to be a better swimmer.

But you did it! In spite of your fears and trepidations, you got out in that water and swam with the sharks! Good for you!
See? There's an adventurer in your soul.

every once in a while it would come out in the open. yes, it has been great that i did.
i have such a quiet personality that at times no one would believe it when they learned i climbed volcanoes before and brought home lava samples and my clothes reeking of sulphur... or that i've been to the deeper part of the rice terraces in the mountains... or explored crystal caves and bat caves where stalactites and stalagmites are abound... or watched a partial solar exclipse aboard a fast-moving vehicle zigzagging the cliffside roads. those were some years ago but great experiences to relive.

I am adventurous, but I am not a daredevil.while I love adventure,I don't do anything too dangerous just to get an adrenaline rush.an example is I can ride all the thrilling roller coasters in an amusement park, but I can't bungee jump or sky dive.in my book, bungee jumping and sky diving are too dangerous for me.
