In the outdoor cooking section of the Jan/Feb 2010 issue of ARKANSAS WILDLIFE is a recipe for Lost in the Marsh Venison Pie. While the name sounds a bit strange it is really just a venison variation of shepherd's pie (meat and veggies topped with mashed potatoes). My husband is planning to make this tomorrow.
Do you like to cook and eat venison?

Yes, I like to cook the venison, but I like it
in a stew. I like to take potatoes, carrots and
tomatoes to put with the venison. I also like to
roast it and baroque it. I just like venison. I
guess I can eat it anyway. The meat is suppose
to be good for you too.
Have a great day.

So we would probably just call it venison shepherd's pie. Once in awhile someone will give my brother so much venison that he can't eat it all and he'll give us some. Usually venison hamburger or steak. He surprised us this winter with venison sausage.
