This time it wasn't the refs! He had his nose almost on the puck and called no goal. No matter what angle the guys in the booth showed it, 100% of that puck was not over the line. No one calling this game, for us or Dallas thinks this was a goal. They all want to see what Toronto saw and the general managers to demand the proof because of the points. The ref is maintaining it was no goal. Toronto almost always goes with the ref..why not when it's against the wings? Here's what toronto is saying right now..they said inconclusive, the other ref on the ice(leggo) said it was a goal..Martel the ref with his face on the puck said no and toronto went with leggo. We haven't heard the last of this.

I watched the game this afternoon and I'm telling you that they gave Dallas a freebie!!!!! I can't stand Dallas. Sorry Jewels. Sucks. We play Atlanta tonight. Will be good if we can get a win against a divisional team in our house.

Thanks canes, they sure did, now Toronto is saying that they really didn'tchange the call that the refs and linesman had agreed it was a goal before they placed the call. Sure took them a long time to do nothing. They are just trying to cover their collective behinds. Hope you guys Thrash Atlanta..we get to go home and play Chicago tomorrow.

We are losing and playing flat. Atlanta is out skating us. I hope we can pick it up or we are gonna get our butts kicked tonight. Well, we just tied it! Go Jussi Jokinen!!!

The issue is that the linesmen also sided with Leggo which overruled the call by the first official of no goal. So when Toronto claimed inconclusive the call on the ice (which was overturned from no goal to goal by Leggo and the linesmen) stand.

The refs getting together to make the call is what should happen. It's about getting the call right no matter what happens. Like anything in life though errors will continue to be made no matter the procedure you have in place. The ideal procedure is one that minimizes the mistakes and this system does that. So many times the officials get together and make the right call. One bad call shouldn't hinder the hundreds of excellent ones. It happens. And though the goal shouldn't have counted, the officials all did their job and based on the procedure they made the correct call. Inconclusive in this instance stands for goal. It's one mistake. And people are blowing it out of proportion like the entire system is wrong and needs overhauling. It doesn't. The system works. It didn't in this case and like anything else in life, it's the error that makes headlines, but it shouldn't cause the whole system to change.

I don't quite agree..for one thing it hasn't been only one mistake..The big thing is when the mistake happens and changes the outcome of a play-off game..that makes it a big deal. Anytime a bad call effects the out come of a game it is time to look at the system and make sure there is only one way to do things.

It was a bad call and the guy closest to the net that made the original call..that is the call that should have counted when Toronto couldn't call it. And if the general managers got their way at the next big pow wow that is the way it is going to be. This has become a big enough of an issue this season the the g,s are getting together to present their case.

Hi J. Did not see the game, but saw some of the highlights. I don't know what this goal you're talking about in this discussion, but what I saw was the shootout goal. Ugh! Tough! I saw that Howard stopped it, but somehow the goal still crossed the line. I know you got a point, but still... what a way to loose another point.

Darn! So that was that goal?! Why did they let Toronto make the call?! All the more reason you should get a job in that war room J! So you can straighten those guys up. So your guys get the hot hawks tomorrow. Hope you can stop them. Not only will you helping yourselves if you win, you'd also be helping all the teams in the west. So is that 12:30 EST? 9:30 my time, got to wake up early. And finish all the chores early.

That's just it bounce, it really didn't cross the line, the ref had his nose about on the puck, he maintained no goal, toronto let the linesman and ref not near the net make the call. I thought Mickey Redmond was going to have a seizure, they took the camera off him and said they would pick him back up when he had time to calm down, I guess Larry Murphy was screaming at the monitors during the review, even toronto said it couldn't tell, it was inconclusive, in light of that fact alone, the original call on the ice is the one that should have been made. More of those little red faces please.. All we can do is hope to go home and take it out on Chicago tomorrow..Everyone can see that one, it's on NBC.
