An author at last - maybe!

Finally, I have sent my manuscript off to be read, and hopefully published on an eBook site. It is a relatively new site set up for English language books in Thailand. Of course it must have a certain amount of Thai content before it’s acceptable, which mine has. I have already sent a synopsis which apparently was acceptable to the editor. Now the wait starts.

All the luck on your new writing career. It is so exciting to hear when another writer is making their dream come true. Even though it is a lot of hard work, it will be worth it in the long run. Once you get the recognition for your writing achievements, it will only lead to other adventures in your writing career. Happy Writing!

Hi chulce, thanks for responding. Many people have an ambition to write a novel, and I'm no different. Unfortunately, many don't get the opportunity to start, others give up, but a few see it through to the end, which in favt is a new beginning. The battle to get it out there. There are plenty of publishers that will print your book, but few that will finance that exercise.

There are a lot of publishers that actually look at what may be the greatest new thing to hit the book world. Many publishers can be extremely picky with what they want to see come from their company. For several years, I have been working on a series of children's books that still has not made it past the rejection stack. Although, the rejections have mentioned that they aren't ready for this update in the genre I have chosen. In some aspects this can be a slap in the face. I feel that the publishers, just need to throw it out there and see how it is received as a story concept and idea. Many publishing companies are now angry that writers are turning to self publishing. But, I think they also need to consider their expectations in the matter and how picky many of them have become.

Hi chulce, I wish you luck with your childrens books. What you say in correct, unless you are someone famous, or a politician who will guarantee the publishing company return on their investment. Once again, good luck, nd thanks for your input.

You can make your own pdf ebook with most good word processing software, then set up your own site, promote and sell it yourself. I have. I sold 5 copies of my book when I was actively promoting it, but I haven't worked at it in a while. My book is fiction but based on a real problem subject of child abuse. I sell it for 9.95 USD.

Wow, that is exciting! I've heard how hard it can be for first time writers to get their manuscripts even considered, so I figure it takes a lot of guts to actually send it out in the first place. I hope everything works out for you!

Hi Mipen, I don't care about thei gender of the author. i am more on the content of the book. the impact that it will make in my life. that what matters to me friend. no gender issue for me when it comes to book authors.

Don't worry msfrancisco I have made similar mistakes, and unfortunately they can't be undone once we hit the enter button. This is just another step in the getting read process, but they liked the synopsis, so here's hoping.
