I just saw Avatar in 3D, and these are my reflections;

I went to see Avatar in 3D just a couple of hours ago, the theater was absolutely PACKED. I know people have started discussions about the movie before, but I want to look at it a little deeper and interpret the message of the movie as well as share my thoughts: -fabulous visual effects; unlike any thing I've ever seen before. -story line and themes that mirrored those of Princess Monoke; technology, internet, building, business, etc. cannot go on growing forever. Sooner or late it will fail. The bigger we get and the farther we go, the harder will we all fall. People are not “superior” to plants and animals- we are all alive and all equal inside. I just wish people actually GOT that kind of message from the movie rather than just taking it for entertainment. -captivating action; it was so intense and so fast paced that the movie didn’t seem as long as it was.

It's an old story that's been told over and over. So is every movie--it has to be really special for me to spend money to see a movie. That's a great review. I'm afraid that though I like action movies, non-stop action wears me out and detracts from the storyline. Perhaps it's not like that with this one but it doesn't sound as if it's something I would enjoy. It would be nice if we could get back to simpler storytelling without all the special effects so people could use their imaginations. Most people don't even know how to imagine things anymore.

I soooo agree with you- we have so much computer generated stuff that I think people ae losing the ability to imagine things on their own.

hi there! I have seen it and for me, the film was just astonishing. I like it! I applaud the director and creator behind it (James Cameron). I heard that, the story line of the movie was created more than twelve years ago but with the type of "effects" or technology back then, they were not able to do it. I was so surprised that the director/creator of the film explored different avenues of movie-making. It was the first time that such technology was used. They bring CGI scenes to the next level. I saw the "making" of the movie and I got so amazed how they captured such scene. Gosh...It's really amazing! I must admit that such story-line had been repeatedly shown in most epic/sci-fi/war films. But the fact that they brought-up issues about "environment" it made me realized how important our world is. We have been dependent on technology, the "war" that has been going on in the middle-east and some parts of the world...obviously produces a lot of impact not just on losing our natural resources but, also the lives of people who supposedly had nothing to do with the war. The movie also emphasized about "hope" and keeping our "faith". I also like the love story behind it, I find it really nice. Overall, the film deserves to be acknowledged, the main reason why it's in the box-office right now. Happy Lotting!

Just the right comment.I was not prepared for this kind of splendor.I was thrilled and spell bound with the visual pleasure.After all that is what cinema is basically.Isn't it.And the breath taking effects and story has taken me to a new world.(Pun intended).This movie has excelled in all the spheres of movie techniques.Easily the best movie I have ever seen.I have been a fan of Cameroon since the Alien days.He has touched the pinnacle of movie making with this fabulous cinema.Hats off to this genius.

The story of the movie was simple and predictable but very much enjoyable. I like the fact that it's scientific, romantic and not boring. It remembers me the movie Plane of the Apes for the idea that humans can still like or fall in love to other species by looking at their inner beauty no the physical one. Furthermore, it intrigues me the place of the Pandora. It is a moon of planet Jupiter in the Solar System. Perhaps it promotes the rumor about the Possible permission of life in one of is moon. LOL. The choice of the skin color of the character erases any racial differences we all have thus it appeals to public. In addition to that blue soothes the viewers' eyes and compliments beautifully with the green environment. Actually, after I watched the movie I love the trees more since in the movie trees have "life" and "feelings". People should now that trees are just not source of food, energy and whatsoever but part as in PART of the whole system. Having the archaeopteryx in the movie reminds us that this beautiful creature can only exist in the world like Pandora, a world with pure energy and beauty where cleanliness and clarity of God's creation are exhibited. Sorry, for the very long comment, hoping you like it. thanks.

Many people complain about how the story is completely unoriginal, like the mix of Pocahontas, dances with wolves bla bla bla, screw them! Avatar's story may not be the most original one, but the way it was told to the audience is completely original. james Cameron create a new world called pandora and with advanced technology, its visual is breathtaking, and the most important thing he's not rushed into the whole action thingy with most of blockbuster movies do now. The story was build with character introduction of Jake Sully and peaked at the last war with Navi and the human race. Also, this movie remind us about appreciating nature and environment, which is a very important message especially due to global warming issue.

Hiya, I agree that it does go beyond the value of entertainment. Though it can be a bit of a hero movie cliche but there are also underlying themes that should be seen and understood aside from the wonderful visual treat that it gives its audience. Hopefully, this movie will serve as a reminder or a wakeup call just how much destruction people and technology bring to the environment. Technology doesnt have to be the bad guy since I think technology and nature can coexist without wanting the other to disappear. People are the ones responsible in keeping this harmonious balance between technology and nature, not use technology to exploit nature instead.

ah man its seems like such an awesome movie but i haven't been able to see it yet. I went to the cinema yesterday intending to watch it in 3D but it was all full up, so was the normal showing but i'd much prefer to see it in 3D anyway. Its been out a while too so the fact that its still getting full viewing must mean its just awesome :)
