do u get stage fright?

I used to be in the drama club when I was in high school. It was my favorite thing to do and we always performed musicals. I really never got stage freight. It wasn't until after college, I was doing karaoke at a club and right before it was my turn I clammed up. My stomach dropped and I felt nervous. I told myself that I had to win the $500 grand prize and that I was going to sing my heart out. Well I ended up giving a decent performance and came in 3rd place. I won $200 so I was happy with that, but I feel if I never got that feeling of stage freight, I would have been able to win all $500.
