We live in a quite stressful life, and stress is one of our worst common enemy. So, I was thinking on how you fight stress after work? What do you usually do when you get home, do you listen to music, have someone to massage for you or did you take any medications, etc.,?

I do it by listening to music, relaxing and lying down for a few minutes and just having a nice conversation with people that I like. I dislike thinking about negativity and prefer to surround myself with positivity. That is more worthwhile than anything at all.

It's also good to surround our self with positive people, because they will influence our mood and our outlook towards life. That's sometimes people overlook the importance of the kind of people that they're into. As they said that when you sleep with a dog you'll wake up with a lice, so who'll you spend with greatly affect your life. Anyway thank you for sharing with us and enjoy your day!

Every morning the first thing I do on getting up is to meditate, to still the mind and set me up for the day. Stress is a part of life and sometimes necessary, but negative stress, like worrying about things you cannot do anything about, can be handled very well with meditation. I have a link on my profile that explains more about meditation. - Derek

Well, singing loudly is a good way to release stress. But as to me, I think talking to the mirror is a better way. Every time I feel sad or annoyed, I'll talk to the mirror because not everything you can talk to parents or friends. And talk to the mirror is talk to yourself. When I talk to the mirror, I feel released. And I think you can have a try.

Yeah, talking to the mirror could help. Most often I talk to myself not using the mirror, only when before I go to bed, or when I get up first thing in the morning, while combing my hair I talk to the mirror. Talking to your self and giving self affirmation will boost your self esteem and somehow makes you release stress. Anyway thank you for sharing with us and enjoy your day!

I just try to think about the fact that someone might have it worse than me and I can't get more than I can handle. Writing helps me through stress a lot. I try to write about the good things that are going on in my life and just think back on things that used to make me happy.

Sometimes when you read over what you have written about what you are stressing over, you might even just shake you head because it might not even be that bad after all. Writing is really a good stress reliever, especially if you don't like to talk to people because you can get it out in the open.

Having a journal and stressing out our emotions through writing could give ease to our emotions thus minimize our stress level. Especially when there's no one you can talk to, and also shouting until it hurts could also be a good way. And of course counting our blessings as you said that you write all the good things in your life. Anyway thank you for sharing with us and enjoy your day!

me and my girlfriend see each other almost everyday. the only days I am not with her is if she's with one of her friends. we have never fought up until now and it's ruining our relationship. when I visit my parents without her, she gets angry and sad. she says its because I'm ditching her.I try to understand her position but I see her so much I didn't think it would matter if I didn't see her for a day or two. it seems like she getting mad at me for everything and it makes us both so stressed. I am not sure if my whole family really likes her very much and thats really stressful too. we can't stop fighting.

Well your relationship could be real stressful as some conflicts arises, which is not good for both of you. yeah, it's fine when you didn't able to see each other for a day or two, as they said absence makes heart grow ponder, but in your case it doesn't happen as it result on argument. I think it could be good if you two would have an open and honest talk about those things that create conflicts in your relationship before its too late. And as not to prolonged stress in your life. Anyway thank you for sharing with us and enjoy your day!

Did you really said, I love to eat snakes? I haven't yet tasted a snakes, anyway I love to eat too, but when I'm stressed I tend to lose my appetite. I think it's not a good thing as when you release stress through eating, as it may results to mindless eating, that makes you gain weight. well that's just what I thought. I work in a setting with a high burnout rate so stress is something I have to deal with everyday. My significant other can also exert a lot of stress on me at times. The things that I do to relieve stress are: take a hot shower with Johnson and Johnson Melt Away Stress body wash,(whether this really works or not may all be in my head), take deep breaths when I feel that things are getting a little heated, work out whenever I get the opportunity, and eat more fruits in my diet. i feel that all of these are great ways to help me relieve my stress and would work for others as well.

Personally, I would listen to some music, watch some comedies or play online games with some of my friends. I enjoy being alone and I don't like to hang out with those so called friends.

So better to focus on something that's good. It could wipe out stress. Anyway thank you for sharing with us and enjoy your day!

As with anything in life - stress can overcome us. At work I tend to get up from my desk and walk away to clear my head. If this can not be done at the time of the stress I think of ways that the stress could be reduced. What can I do to make the situation less stressful. Same at home. I used to take med's. but they just made me feet indifferent to everything. No emotion at all. So, the best advice I have here it Act, React or do Nothing. Those are the three choices you have with anything you do. Learn to master them and you can reduce your stress three fold.

Yeah, medication could only help at first, but the more you get use on it the more it will be less effective and it's not good for our health. Well we can overcome with stress,as long we do something and not just stay in a corner and let stress drown our heart and mind.As they said, the worst thing you can do in every problem is to do nothing. You must do something! Anyway thank you for sharing with us and enjoy your day!

Talking to someone,listening light music,reading novels,walking,eating.....
But I prefer talking to someone, which makes me feel easy really.
I am not that kind people who like to hide oneself's feelings, when I have dissatisfaction I will talk to the person who is relevant.
I think that maybe someone else can help me to find other ways to solve the problems~

Yeah, having someone whom you can honestly talk to and able to express your feelings could also help release stress, it's like when you feel bad and when you share that to others who listen willingly it somehow makes you feel good, even the person didn't actually help you solve the problem. The "sharing" thing always works. Since it's not good to bottle up our emotions. Anyway thank you for sharing with us and enjoy your day!

Reading a book that we love, could help a lot, as it takes your mind to the place of wonder and fantasy that makes you able to forget the reality, and be the person that you wanna be. Well fighting a dragon could be real challenging, and if you win it could make you feel like a hero:-). Anyway thank you for sharing with us and enjoy your day!

Its been how many months that I am consulting my doctor on what is my illness? He answers me with a smile, telling me I am healthy and just suffering stress. It's really hard to find ways to cure this illness since it is psychological. Lately I have tried to loosen up the burden, I watch movies, laugh with those jokes and of course, let all things be unto God. That's the time I have overcome the stress since I found the peace of mind I badly need

Yeah, its psychological and worst thing is when one wouldn't able to deal with it, it will bring serious health problem to the person. That's why we really need to do something to fight with it. Laughing, spending time with those people who makes us laugh and felt love and of course praying to God. It's already scientifically proven that prayer gives comfort and peace in mind, that those who's suffering from certain disease benefits from it. God can do everything, He can give peace where the world can't give. Anyway thank you for sharing with us and enjoy your day!

Honestly, i agree with you that stress is one of our worst enemies and I'm hoping I can find some worthwhile tips here. Most of the time, what I do is to try to ignore what is stressing me out and do whatever I want to do. The problem is that I may not readily have the resources to do what i want to do and even if i do, that may not be what i need to be doing at that time and that will make things a lot worse.

Yeah, I'm also hoping to get some tips to fight stress and would likely want to hear from all mylotters. Anyway, it could be real hard when there are things that you want to do but you just can't do due to certain circumstances. It could be a real problem. Well how about doing simple things that you love, where it's possible to do in your situation. I'm sure there might be,even one or two. Anyway thank you for sharing with us and enjoy your day!

There a number of things I do to keep stress at bay. I listen to music everyday to change my mood or enhance it if already feeling good. I also try to get some excercise in every day. I'm not a lover of going to the gym, but enjoy a long walk in the middle of nature to help feel relaxed.

As a working mother, I am also invulnerable to stress. But overcoming it is a matter of attitude. After my work, I drop by to market and buy something like fruits for my kids. When I am at home, I rest for a while then prepare our dinner, feed my family then clean our kitchen and dining area. After that I'll prepare my kids in going to bed. Then a time for myself wherein I do rest by listening to music, play piano, use computer, and sometimes I play with my kids or share stories with them.In other words, overcoming daily stress is serving my family and liking the things that I do.I do enjoy doing things for my kids/family and so my stress is relieved. My family makes me happy and they are one of the reasons for me to think of a brighter future.Taking a good sleep is also a way of overcoming daily stress.I don't want to think too much on problems.I want to be positive of challenges so that I will not be much stressed. Happy mylotting!

Thank you for sharing your very inspiring response. It could not be really easy to become a full time mother, but you did it well and you seems to be living a life with fulfillment and satisfaction. You're a selfless mom and your kids and hubby are lucky to have you. You're right doing the things that we love and by serving others give you a stress free life. Not all people can love what they're doing, as we have different reasons. Anyway thank you for sharing with us and enjoy your day!

hi careguarden,
I sometimes do the things that will make me happy and forget some of my problems...haha! like shopping. I also love getting some back and foot massage. If I have some extra money I visit a spa near our place and have some "relaxation". Or I simply ask my "kind" sister to do it for me...yey! I sometimes listen to my favorite music and take some rest. I think having some sleep will make your mind in shape, so I usually would love to hit the bed and get some sleep.

Stress is part of my everyday life.As an instructor I always encounter stress every end of the day due to long hours of lectures. To overcome stress I drink plenty of water because it really tones me down. I also play with my baby he has the ability to ease my tensions.

Working life is indeed stressful, not to mention the traffic jams we get caught up everyday while commuting to and fro work. One of my favorite ways to de-stress is to play with my kids. I will piggy-back them, tickle them, or take them for a walk in the park after dinner. I also indulged myself in 1 or 2 hours' of pleasure reading before bedtime, with jazz music playing softly in the background. These activities charge me up in a sense and get me ready to face tomorrow's challenges.
