for the sake of being an honor student, or to be on top of the class - would you submit your child to a tutor in every subject?
isn't it developing dependency of your child to a tutor, instead of teaching your child to be independent, to study in his/her own, and learn on her own but of course supervised still be parents....
what do you think!

The student life is very much flexible and dependent on parents, teachers, school and friends. Out of all these a tutor is one who provides guidance and assistance to a student in his subjects, school work and to understand the problems. If all these are possible in extra free hours of the day of a student, it can become a good an fruitful to student. But it is the responsibility of parents and teachers to work out the necessity of a tutor is how much and long required. Subjects like science, mathematics, computers and physics are always thought to be little much difficult to score high grades. We should also give as much as time to play and enjoyment to student, so that he can become healthy and jolly over the period of schooling.

EXACTLY!! you are correct Jay.
though they can help, but all should not be relied to them, parents should still be there for their children.

Hi!I'm a student now! And my mother always want me to be the top of the class! However, there is only one "top", I don't think you must do everything best when you plan to do! I think I should do it for happy! Study for happy! And now, I'm study and happy!

very good. that make the thing more important, when we ARE HAPPY with what we are doing.
as long as you enjoy that you are doing, there is no better reward than that.
Good luck in to your studies. keep healthy always.
God Bless You!

no way i never would throw him in gutter. i know how to study and how to live a life. for the sake of first position in class i am not going to kill his child hood. i will let him study what ever he want. i will just keep one eye on what is he doing. is it bad or not? i think this will lead him to be master in what he wanted to be.

to me as parents, we are there to only encourage our children to be the best they can be. i would not seek for tutor also, because some tutor would just teach children to memorize and not to expand their understanding about concepts and ideas. but i'll not throw tutors to the gutter, that for sure :-)
thanks sham, God Bless!

In my opinion, I say that if you can afford to have a tutor for each subject for your child, go for it. Why not? Students learn to be independent once they start college. From that point, they learn how to go on a strict budget, choosing their part-time job, choosing their major, and more. It is a learning process every child must go through from their first years of college. On the other hand, there are students back in high school who still needs to be dependent by their parents. Parents should do whatever they can up till high school. Suppose, your child does well in school thanks to the tutors, your child may be able to graduate faster in college and may produce good results. This will also help the parents in the long run. And as for the student himself, he/she can learn at an extremely fast rate and be ahead in the ball game. Developing your child to be independent can wait once the student graduates from high school. Then the child is free to do what he wants to do in the future.

they say the "discepline the child in his early age, for he will carry that until he grows." as if saying that, train tyour child thw way you wnt to live his life and he will follow it.
i do believe that. for what id the man of tomorow are the child of today.
