Is stock market is really risky

Well, I want a suggestion friends, Is stock market is really risky, some of my friends invested in stocks and they are doing well, they suggested me to investment in stocks, but i felt it very risky.
I think investing in stocks means nothing but losing money, friend if your well aware about stock market, please provide me some tips, like where to invest, how to invest etc.
I need your opinions regarding this matter.

well,i have invested stocks about 3 years ,anyting has both sides,if you invest stocks you will pay attention on financial states.This is a good way to know about financial policy.Before you decide to buy stocks,you must learn some rules.And you have to hold the worst relust.With the time pass,your investment level will grow up.Good luck!

Where there is a risk there is a possibility of getting good money. You just need to gain experience that will guide you in investing the right kind of stocks.

Around 2008 when the stock market was on the verge of collapse just about all stock prices of every company really dropped around 50 to 75% or more. The only stock that I noticed that really went up around that time was Walmart. Of course it was terrible for investors who already had a lot of money in the stock market but great for investors just starting out as there was discounts every where you turned. Its a little too late to get in on all the discounts but if you look enough there are still some good deals on stocks that have room to go higher. General Electric hasn't recovered all the way and has room to go up. The real estate market is doing terrible right now with all the foreclosures that have happened but that means the stocks are right around rock bottem. Buying just some could turn up a good profit 2 or more years from now. More than anything try to do your research before buying stocks as many fail to even do this. Also theres many stocks from china that are considered under-valued which can bring in some profits.

risk in market is depend upon which kind of stock you choose.
