How often do you bathe your pet?

How often do you bathe your pet and with what type of shampoo? Do you blow dry them? I bathe my cat every 3 days with flea shampoo, and almost everyday with regular shampoo. I try to blow dry him once, but he totally freaked out. I clean his ears and wipe off his genitalia. Overall, he is a really clean cat, and a spoiled one at that one!

I've never bathed either of my 2 indoor shorthair cats - they do the job themselves and are immaculate. I've had many cats in my lifetime and the only one I ever bathed was when I took in a little kitty that was covered with lice, fleas and had ringworm, and that was a one time deal. From what I've read, you don't need to and probably shouldn't bathe a cat unless they got into something they can't handle.

Depending on the breed of cat it can be really dangerous to bathe them. If you do it shouldn't be every single day. Unlike us, cats don't regain the oils they lose when they get wet. It leaves their skin unpotected and more prone to fleas and infection.
The two cats we have don't require baths. If the cats do get a bath, its because they are covered in something we don't want them licking off.

you BATHE your cat?
I'm far too attached to my skin to BATHE my cats!
Is he long haired? is he fixed? is he a show cat? why not just give him a flea treatment to keep the fleas off him?
I've bathed a few cats, but its not something I look forward to and generally only if something has happened to make them dirty or smell.
