Just saw this on Yahoo! News, and don't know if it's gotten to myLot yet. Please read this (hope the url works --at least the whole thing is seen): http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100117/ap_on_re_la_am_ca/cb_haiti_earthquake I think the the attitude of these people is superb. I'm sure you would agree. How do you think some people would react where you live?

I think this would be a common response in the US, at least where I live, people here go to church when bad things happen. We are in a very poor part of the state and it seems like people are closer here than in large cicties.

Disasters bring out the best in some people and the worst in others. We see both elements in Haiti.

I notice even though they didn't curse God they did their leaders and others who they felt should be helping more. I think if I was in that situation I would probably find it hard to hold my tongue also and pray that I am never tested in that way. I am sure those who live near me are also thankful they haven't had to go through such an ordeal.

Aye, some did curse their leaders, however I doubt that most them were not the same people that were praising God.

No one stand against the Nature. Nature is that powerful. No technology, scientific experiment could prevent it. So, the ultimate is to put the things in GOD. So, we pray.($)Dollar is still powerful, in this it is written "We trust in God".

I'm sure some might go that route, but I am also sure that many of these people have a personal relationship with God and are in the habit of praising regardless of whether whatever happens can be controlled by them or not.

Yes, you are right- when calamities strike in personal life or to a country in the form of a natural disaster, people try to find solace in prayers and in God, Her in India we have also gone through a lot of natural calamities in the form of earthquakes, floods, landslides, draughts, and then man-made ones like bombings/terrorism, rail-accidents, etc and in almost all cases the people have turned to God & prayer.
