My problem is that I can't concentrate on my work. My friend suggested to me that before starting my work I should listen to slow music for five minutes and then start the work. Although I tried it for few days it didn't work out. He suggested me that it needs practice. Do you think it can happen? Does music improves concentration?

As for me music only distract me from concentration. If I have a work to do and I need to finish it right away I just stay in my room and concentrate. Music will only feed my mind with so many things like remembering a friend, exlover or movie soundtrack and the likes. I don't know about you but for me it wont work.

Music definatly helps with my concentration if I have earphones in. Otherwise people all around me and any other noise distracts me. The only problem is the music has to be semi new to me becasue if I know all the words I just get distracted again.

Music helps clear my mind or help me focus on things. I think music can help a person concentrate depending on the type of music and speed of the music. I think music can help with concentration like many things but it depends on the style and if the person is will to allow it or to use it as background noise.

Depending on the kind of music you are listening to. I think that Easy listening might relax you a bit or maybe tranquil sounds maybe. Music is more of a distraction to me. I can do housework quick while listening to music though.

For me it really depends. Sometimes when I'm writing I like to have music on to help my creative juices flow. Sometimes I'll put on music to help me relax, and that will help me concentrate after I turn it off. When I'm exercising it helps to have energetic music on. But I can't listen to music and read, work, or study. I can't concentrate enough on the task at hand. Every person is different. You might have something other than music that helps you concentrate.
