My Cat Follows Me When I Walk Somewhere No Matter The Distance.

The other day I had to walk to the gas station to get milk on the whole other side of town ( about a mile ) and my cat ( Crosly ) Walked the whole way there with me and waited right outside the door at the store.
He was meowing at the door until I walked out then he happily walked home w/ me. This is a picture of my cat, he is about 9 months old.

This is what I like about cats. We don't need to drag them with chains to bring them with anywhere. They just instantly follow us. You are lucky to have a cat in your house. I had some, but now I am not allowed to have any pets at all since some of my family members have asthma:(.

I am sorry to hear about not being able to have cats, and sometimes I wish my cat would stay home I don't want anything bad to happen to him.

Its okay. I learned to live without them! But did you notice one thing?Cats have good memory. You leave them outside, they will hang out in distant places of the neighborhood and yet will come to your house. Dogs often get lost if they get out of the fences.

I have a pug that does the same thing! I have begun to wonder if there is some magnetic force between him and my feet lol!

The Doctor and Mekon would follow me, but I never went far - there are busy roads all around me and I wasn't about to have them follow me close to them - heck, I would barely walk half way to them if I could avoid it - generally if the cats were with me, I only went as far as around the circle and back, really only a hundred yards or so.
I'm not a walker... and that was BEFORE I hurt my feet!

yeah if I lived in a highly populated area I would not want my cat to follow me then.

I have had a couple of cats that would do that.
the first followed me and the roommie and the dogs (I think he thought he WAS a dog) down to the gas station (we picked him up to cross the street it was a busy 4 lane hwy) When we got there the cashier had said she watched us walking all the way down. She was so impressed with him and then apologized as she had dog biscuits to give the dogs and nothing to give the cat- apparently they don't have many Kitty visitors!
My other cat started following me and the dogs down the street on our way to the post office. after he had made it the whole block and I realized I couldn't get him to go back.. I started calling him to make it the next block.. The traffic picked up so I had to carry him the last block for safety. he was a little nervous but I was proud of how he handled it. We mailed our letter, turned around and after walking the (busy)block- I put him down and he walked the rest of the block following or sometimes leading me and the dogs.

Well that's good for you because in my case, it only follows me whenever I have a treat in my hands or something food to offer. I do believe that cats have a good memory of its master and owner. But in some cases. it relies also on its sensitive sense of smell as to where its owner. As far the saying goes, any cat that lingers near your house or you try to feed them for the first time, it will remember you as its owner and possible master.

I don't see the image. But that is amazing that a cat would fallow their owner that far. Most animals flinch at the sound of traffic. Well, not our cats as much because we live in an apartment complex and the parking lot is only a few feet out the door. Cars are always coming and going. So they don't flinch as much when they see cars and stuff zoom by.

There are not many things I have been able to find that scare my cat and traffic definitely is not one of them.

My cat is not allowed to go outside, but I had one that was and he used to follow us everywhere up and down ladders up a mountainside and all kinds of peculiar places. Cats can become very attached to their human friends.

Awww..that is just so sweet!!! Sounds like he is a dog in a cat body! I had a cat, Pooh Bear that followed me everywhere too, he's even follow me to the bathroom and wait outside the door til I was done and then walk with me back to my office. I set up a basket bed for him to the right of my office desk so he'd have a comfy spot to snooze while I worked. He was the most faithful cat I ever had! Sounds like you have a keeper in Crosly!! Cute name by the by!!
