Keyboard typing being one of the most important part of computer operation can't be underestimated. The more speed you have the more time you save. Earlier the work is finished earlier the other job started. Well I am not talking about making world records but one must have a reasonable typing speed. Even on MYLOT the faster you type the faster you earn. So you always have an upper hand if your typing speed is more. Any other views are anticipated.

I agree that having typing skills are absolutely neccessary. I'm a touchtypist and I learnt my skills at the age of fifteen at a business administration college. I would say I have a typing speed of around fifty to sixty words per minute. This definitely helps in terms of posting on My Lot. I treasure this skill and I guess the more you type the more practise you receive, the better and more efficient you become as a typist. I like to use the term for myself as described in the movie 'Hackers', I'm a "Keyboard Cowboy!" Andrew

Hi sanjeev,
If you have gone through the technical training in typing then you must have a good typing speed. Those people who do not learnt type-writing technically may be slow in typing. But they can also acquire a good speed with daily practice. If we don’t have speed in typing then it may take long time to finish even small works. I have seen that some people are using only two fingers from both hands for typing and on practice they have speed too. But the person learnt typing in the systematic manner; he/she can finish much works within limited time. What is the advantage if you have lot of ideas but can’t post all those in mylot because of the low typing speed. So speed in typing is necessary for doing our work quickly.

I am quite happy with my speed. Since I know typing the speed here is atleast thrice of that of typing on a typewriter. It does help to score better and a lot of time is saved. The light touch keyboard makes it a pleasure to type on the pc.
