Now I'm sure most of you have heard of the Wonderful Song "Boot~Scootin Boogie" by Brooks & Dunn over the years, Sorry Guys No offense to you or to your wonderful Song but this just popped into my mind last night and I had to use it as my Title here (G)!! Ok so here's my story I was sitting here last night watching America's Funniest Video's on TV and I hear my Cat Screamer down the hall using the Kitty box when she comes out of the door where its located she immediately flops her (rear-end) her buttttt onto my tiled floor and she is dragging-"scooting" her behind on the floor, scoot..scoot...leaves a long skid-mark of Poop...scoot, sccccooottt...another streak of poo-skidmarks now she is doing this repeatedly in about a 6-8 foot area all this takes place in just seconds mind you and it takes me a few seconds to get up off the couch, I am laughing at this whole scene I didn't get mad or flip a nut I was laughing I grab her up and get a handful of paper-towels and retrieve the poop-wad stuck on her ( rear-end) aka long hairy tail... GOOD GRIEF!!!! so yeah the song popped into my head like I said, you just have no idea what this all looked like on my floor and her doing it her black-hairy butt scootin-along scoot, & smear & scoot & drag & scoot and smear and smear and scoot some more and smear more poop!!!! ROTFLMBFFAO!!!!!!! Such a bad bad ~KItty but I love her dearly even when she is making Poo-messes all over my floor oh yeah I had to wash my bathroom rug too as some poo had found its way on there too....AARrggghh!! Ever had a poop-scootin Kitty??? Ever seen a poop~scootin kitty? hmm I wonder if by the time I finish writing this if the word "poop" is even allowed here in mylot, it will probably blow chunks here and my whole typed out spaced out post will look like one big written blob...LOL! We shall see huh? Say it with me now think of the "song" and then replace the words with "poop~scootin" Kitty....LOLOL!!!

My cats have done that, but they are not all long haired. Often it is a sign they have worms, yuck. I know it is funny but not really and I am glad you could laugh at it. In the e mail your post was all spaced out, but of course when I open the discussion it is run right along after itself.

Yes, it is quite possible, but since she IS feral, what ARE we going to do about them? Not like we can easily pill her! Well, I guess if I have an extra couple of hundred running around to go to the hospital afterward...

HI Gerty; No, no worms that I know of or haven't seen any; Sometimes I think she kinda "sits down" in the litter box and or one of those dratted poop wads just get stuck back in her long tail, it wasn't "where" it was supposed to be but then she had been scootin along the floor ya know? LOL!! it still makes me laugh but what a mess!!!

Hi Elic: Yeah wouldn't it be great to have a couple extra hundred laying around I could really take good care of my pets then and myself (G)! I wish!! If you find some extra money laying around don't forget me and I'll do the same for you ok? LOL!!

Why does your cat drag its poo everywhere? Is she very young, or maybe have diarhea? I remember a couple of years ago, one of cats was siound asleep on our bed, when in the middle of the night, the other cat jumped on. This scared the first cat so much, that her bowels went haywire. She ran off the bed in fright, and there was runny poo all over the ned, the carpet, the floor and down to the family room. My ex husband never got over it.

Oh, now I get it. She gets poo stuck to her fluffy tail. My cat, who is very fluffy, used to have that problem too.Her nickname is fluffybum.

HI Jennybianca: No, she didn't have diarrhea that night with her long tail/her fur sometimes those Poopwads get stuck in their hair before they leave the litter box and that night she had a poopy-wad stuck in her long hair so she's scootin-her hind end on the floor trying to get rid of it...LOL! if she had just waited a minute I would've noticed her plight and helped her out but she took it upon herself to rid herself of that "thing" in her fur.. it was funny to see though not so funny cleaning it all up though...

I've seen it, generally speaking if you get your cat's hair around her but clipped it won't be happening again but our little feral, Star, does it and we can't catch her! Don't even know why it happens since she's a short hair.

I am so glad you don't have carpeting in your apartment!! LMAO I've seen dogs scoot but not cats - at least not with poop. I've seen a cat we used to have scoot at warp speed trying to get the tape my kids applied to his tiny little balls which I opposed and yet couldn't help laughing so hard I couldn't breathe, literally. That cat SHOT across the back of the couch, back feet in the air, pulling himself along with his front feet, trying desperately to remove that tape (which was applied flat, not wrapped). I felt so bad and was angry at the kids, yet just couldn't stop laughing at what I saw. It was insane!!

ROFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes, I have had a similar situation to yours but maybe worse... When I got my cat Bakkar, he was a tiny tiny kitten and came from a shelter. I don't know what the heck they had fed him but he had such runny poop from the first day I brought him home. So off to the Vet we went the next day, poor baby had worms and they were upsetting his tummy... so not to be too gross but I had cleaned up not ONLY yucky runny kitty poop but unknowingly worms...could it get any worse?? Well the vet gave me meds to add to his food for 5 days and said that he should be over the runs in 2 to 3 days completely as that how long it can take to kill off all the worms. So luckily or unluckily for me, I was unemployed when I got him. I had signed up for him and had to wait 48 hours while they checked me out and during that time, I got laid off as the company went under..But I had already fallen in love with him so got him anyway knowing I'd get another job fairly soon. So every time I heard action in the litter box, I would jump up and go get him to stop the smears...I'd wash off his little butt under the warm water tap in the bathroom.. After 3 days,..FINALLY it was over. BUT!!! Guess what, he loved water and was so used to it that he'd jump into the bathtub after my bath when only a few inches of water remained and splash around a bit and seemed to enjoy it! He'd always come and sit on the bathroom rug and keep me company when I took a bath else he'd cry at the door so he won that one.. Of course he got rubbed dry with a Big Nice soft warm towel and Mama cuddles so that might have been part of it!! He's gone to the Rainbow Bridge now and I can't wait to see him again...but I'll pass of the butt smears!!

HI Tallygirl; Sorry to hear your Cat has passed onto the Rainbow Bridge, so many of my own are there too, it will be a stampede of pets coming to greet me someday when its my time; AAhhh! That poor little thing, that was nice of you to wash its little butt like that, my crazy cat Screamer likes "some water" she jumps into my tub right after I shower and she likes to lick the water off of my legs while I am drying, crazy cat and she plays in the toilet water just plays in it, sometimes she will get a nice cold drink but mostly she plays in it , hangs way down into the toilet to make it splash and she loves to watch the toilet paper SWOOSH AWAY...she plays in the sink too, and my denture cup...ARRgghh!! If I turn my head she's into my drinking water in my glass or soda or after a piece of ice you name it,she's after it...LOL! oh yeah she loves to chase a piece of ice on the floor too...LOL! Do you have any cats now?? Thanks for stopping by and for sharing your story with me... Yeah I think I'll pass on the "butt smears" too, hopefully this won't happen any time soon again..(G)!

LOL...I think I'll have a litte less than a stampede but they'll be quite a few, furry, feathered and scaled! We have 2 cats right now, a dog and a gecko lizard. And yes the gecko is mine! Hubby decided that since I spend so much time in my office that I should have a pet that could keep me company there too, so into my life Christmas 2008, gave a baby girl gecko and she'd growing nicely! I don't think I've been without a pet of some kind my whole life, not that I think about it...They do make a house a home! Cleo, my cat leader does try to get into the toilet but she fell in once as a kitten so we make sure to always keep it shut and dog will drink from it which I would rather she didn't. Hubby is well trained to always put the seat down and if he forgets, I say what about the animals? And he immediately fixes the problem! Can't imagine trying to get a good night's sleep at home without my furries! I miss them when we travel, likely as much as they miss us! Be Well!!

Yes, I have had a poop-scottin' kitty before. I used to foster for the Humane Society, do cat rescues and have 11 cats of my own, so I've had quite a few poop-scottin' kitties, as a matter of fact. Cute song...

HI FlaKNMB: Oh Wow! 11 cats huh? That's amazing!! I can hardly feed the two I have which eat like a pair of hogs I swear they do but then again I guess I spoil mine terribly; That's amazing that you used to foster for the humane society; and do cat rescues, that would just break my heart to be around all those animals and not be able to take them home with me; Since I no longer live in the country I have to live in town I'm limited to TWO PETS here, I still have a few out at my Dad's Farm but he complains about it daily...(sigh)!! Do you have photo's of your 11 cats in your profile? I'd love to see them all! Take care and good luck and give those precious kitty's a big old hug from me ok??

ROTFLMAO!!! we sing the same song to my older black cat..only we call it "booty scoot boogie" the poor thing has prominant..um..even tho he's fixed..anyway,he gets litter up on top of them and the only way he knows to get it off there is to scoot. so he goes zipping along the floor, and the look on his face is hilarious.

Hi Scarlet_woman!! Sorry its taken me so long to get back on here to answer your post and everyone else's...been crazy busy!! LOL! "Booty scoot boogie" that's for sure; I know Cats really can be so expressive can't they? I swear they are more "human" than most of us realize!! My Cat Screamer just hates to be "laughed at" about anything even though she left me quite a mess that night with her skid-tracks it was friggin-hilarious!! LOL!!! AAahhh! WE gotta love our fur-babies with poopy-wads right? LOL!

Hey jan! I'm lmao right now! I'm sorry to say that I don't know that song, but will now have to go check it out! I have had both cats and dogs that have done that and although sometimes it isn't funny since I have wall to wall carpet and that is alot harder to get the poop out of especially since it is light beige, it is still sort of funny how hard they try to get that poop blob off! I almost feel sorry for them except that "mama" has to be the one to wipe their poopy butt and clean the damn carpet! But, I can definitely see the funny side of it all! And I never got really mad at my babies ever! Kiss that kitty for me will ya? Hugs, Opal

HI {{Opal~darlin}}, how are you?? AAcckk!!! You've never heard of Brooks & Dunn's song Boot Scoot Boogie? here's a video link to watch/hear them play... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d05tQrhNMkA check it out!!! Yeah to have had carpet here last night would have made it a LOT worse to try to clean up all those poop-skid mark tracks my darling left for me; Such a bad kitty..(G)!! but to see her doing this so quickly was the funniest thing just wish I had a camcorder darn it....so many things I'd love to share with others that she does and I've nothing to capture it with, just with "words"... Love & hugs to you!!!

I remember when one of our cats used to do it. Lucky for us it wasn't leaving a trail but it was funny to watch the antics. Once in a super blue moon, that will happen to where there is actually some left behind, but still regardless. Its funny to watch.
