I am currently learning spanish on the net through a website called Livemocha.com. Do check it out. Learning languages is never easy. Every language has its own structure and logic, which you often dont 'get' in the begining .Listening to songs and watching movies helps. Making friend with people who spwak that language is also very helpful.

I am also using Livemocha to learn more and I had chosen spanish, chinese, and japanese.I decided to take one course at a time. I am quite impressed with some of my livemocha friends who can study 2 or 3 languages at a time. They are really gifted. As of now, I try to focus more on learning english and enhancing my vocabulary. Even though I am studying English for very long time, there are still instance in which I am not confident with the language. After that, I will continue on studying Spanish. I have meet many people who speak Spanish and they are very friendly.

Esperanto is a very good language, perhaps you can consider it,then the basic communication with Europeans would be easy.

Right now, I know both English and Chinese. I think I would like to learn Spanish and French since they are also quite widely used in many countries. Don't really have time to learn now but I think I would try when I'm in university.

since i'm addicted to korean and japanese songs, i would love to learn both japanese and korean language. i know it's hard, especially when i have other studies to succeed as well. but, if we're able to speak at least 1 other language, it's okay already. =)
