How do you deal with work place bullying?

I unfortunately work in a toxic environment. I love my job, however, there is a small group of women who love to make my life miserable. I just recently got back to work after being off for 6 months from having back surgery, and I have yet to even receive a hello. There have been many incidents from general rude behavior, being completing ignored, to disappearing staplers, files, to snooping, etc. My replacement even had soap put in her milk. I have always taken the high road and always acted like nothing bothered me. Now, I don't even bother trying to be nice or talk to them. If they were to actually talk to me i would be nice of course. I am just wondering whether or not anyone else has had to deal with this adolescent behavior, what you would do if you were in a similar situation, and what kind of advice would you give me.

You are right to take the high road. It doesn't matter where you work, there will always be people you do not like. Unbelievably, one of my co workers is in her mid fifties and she quits her job at least one time a month, having full tantrums like a child. She comes in to the office at 7:00 a.m. and leaves at 8:00 p.m., works weekends, etc. The truth of the matter is that she types slowly and can't get all of her work done in a day, the rest of the time she is on the phone for hours. She demands to be paid for overtime, but we work for salary. Anyway, I believe that she has a mental disorder, and she has now been put on notice that the next time she "quits" she is out the door. I don't understand why the management would allow someone like this to stay, but I don't care anymore. I come in, do my work, have nothing to do with her, then leave for the day, feeling good about the fact that I actually have a life outside of work, and she does not.
