Do you review or spell check before publishing your discussions?

I think it is important and it contributes to quality posts here in Mylot. Anyone can access the web not only Mylot members. For instance, if we are going to search something in Google and one of the Mylot dicussions appeared, and even if we did not make a thorough reading, just seeing how we construct sentences, like the punctuations, capitalizations, spelling, etc, are we going to choose that result?
We can not say that we are making quality posts if we do not care to check it before submitting.
I sometimes do it but not as often as others. I did it if I can remember. Sometimes when I was in a hurry, I don't mind. If we have a spelling check option, I might do it regularly. I don't even read my response twice. I usually notice my mistake after publishing and can not even edit it.

It depends on how busy I am at the time. Most of the time I would take the opportunity to spell check, but if I am really busy I will have a quick read through what I have typed and correct any errors. If I do miss any mistakes I hope others will be forgiving.

I review my post only once or there are times that I submit my post right away after typing because I check it as I type every word on my post and do corrections immediately. Others said that firefox has a built-in spell checker, you can try using it when you are rushing to type. Yes, others can understand the response, discussion, or comment even it has several mistakes as long as the thought or the substance is still there. Mistakes can't be avoided sometimes so we must consider it as a part of learning as we can learn something from our own mistakes.

I try to review and spell check before publishing my discussions when I remember to do so. But there are times when I don't always do so, because I'm so in a hurry to get them published and I forget to proofread my discussions. But I definitely should take my time in the future and proofread my discussions.

Before every details. But now what I type is what I think.
And sometimes my mind is so fast that my hand types erratically.
And sometimes I have type a different word but with the same pronouncements as the word that I want to say.
..
I think if you already spend long hours in mylot you become confident that you don't bother to check it anymore.
Beside how many response you get that you think read what you type?
I think 90% of the response only read the title and then just browse the contents and 50% of the response only read the title and then the first and the last sentences.
And I think 10% of the response just read the title of the thread and make some comments.
I know some people do that because even me do that sometimes..lolz

well,i face the same problem as you. not much people will go and really check their mistake especially in here, mylot. they need many comment to make money so do you think they got time to check it? of couse i am one of them. so if you see any mistake in people's comment just dont laugh it. think in other's shoe. you may make mistake too.

Hello there! Well, spelling and grammar is also considered in contributing quality posts. It is suggested to review the discussion, response, or comment before posting it. Preview function can help but reviewing it on the text box can do the same. Using spell checker is useful to check the spelling of the words. On mobile users or those who use cell phone for posting, predictive text input can help but I prefer direct input. But sometimes, mistakes can't be avoided, especially when rushing to type and posting it immediately. When I have mistakes on my posts, I post a comment on it for corrections then laugh at it. If there is a software to be used for checking the grammar, that would be better. Have a nice day!

I definitely check out each response I make here because it is a huge difference having a good response in terms of grammar, spelling and etc. Out of an hour each day, just checking every post is ideal to practice the quality of posts that we can make.

yes i do go back and check my spelling and review my posts because I type fast and sometimes misspell words and I want people to read and understand what I am saying and not be consumed with the misspellings, and I want to make sure that what I am saying makes sense and is related to the topic.

I make my best to spell check and review my discussions and responses here in myLot. but no matter how scrutinizing we are, there are still instances what wrong spellings and incorrect grammar reflected on our post. But I see some members who doesn't care as some even port here with the texting format like they are just texting to their cellphone.

I always preview before posting. I am anal about correct spelling, punctuation, and grammar. That's how I was brought up (blame it on Mom).
I agree with the assessment that anything you publish on the 'net, even myLot, is up for perusal by anybody. I have no wish to come across as a 3rd grade dropout.
I'm human, I do typos too, but when I see a string of text shortcuts (i.e. u r 4 me} and misspellings (2 of my pet peeves), I won't read any further. Text shortcuts might be good for a cellphone where size is limited, but here? Plenty of room to write 'You are for me'.
I am tolerant of members whose first language is not English. In fact, I usually am impressed they do as well as they do. It's been said English is one of the hardest languages to learn.
I know, I know, maybe I'm a little too critical, but I did say I was anal.

HI! I just started mylot a couple days ago and I created only two discussions for a start. I was so panic when i published it and notice it late that my spelling and sentences is wrong. I wish I can edit it again but I think I can't? And I don't know if I can deleted it. So shameful. :-(

Well for me, I tried my best to comment on discussions as much as I could. But sometimes it can't be denied that I'm making mistakes like spellings and shortcut words like text messaging. I wasn't really aware that our discussions here are really roaming around the web not until I searched for something then it turned out that I was brought here in mylot. That's why I'm extra careful now of what I'm going to say.

I try my best to make sure all of my sentences make a bit of sense. I do try to spell check and make sure I am using the right words. One time I decided to omit a sentence but didn't realize I didn't take it all the way out. I am sure anyone who was reading it understood what I was saying. But it is a bit embarrassing so I am a bit more careful typing and take my time.

Yes, I try and make sure that everything makes sense. And for the most part, everything does. The fact that I have spell check on Firefox helps but there is an odd error that slips by despite my best efforts to catch them in time. I do get most of everything, for the most part. Its just that one thing that I miss every now and again. I doubt anyone notices it most of the time but I do when I look at my post after I do and it bugs me.

I try to, especially if it's a lengthy post or response. That is one of my biggest pet peeves. If I start to read a discussion and there are errors or it runs together, I have to stop reading it. At some point, I will completely forget what the topic even was because I'm so annoyed by the non-sense. I would love to correct it or point it out but I know I couldn't do it in a way that would be very polite.
