How important is Facebook to you? Do you spend a lot of time on it? Is it the number one way you tell people what going on in your life? could you live with out it?
I don't have a Facebook account and i really don't want to make one.... it seems like to much work plus i don't think I'd ever really use it!
Am i the only person in the world who doesn't have a Fackebook account?!? Am I the only one who finds it over rated?

Facebook has now reached over 300 million subscribers. Thats quite a lot. Facebook has now become an internet phenomenon. I admit that i don't use facebook as much as i do before discovering mylot. But there are a lot of things you can do over there, like connecting with your friends. Connecting with friends is it's main attraction. Just try to search some of those that you have lost contact with and i'm sure you'll find them on facebook. Try making an account and see for your self. Cheers!

It's worth a try. I recall having lost contact with a classmate in college for more than 3 years since he migrated to the US. I was surprised when i receive a message on Facebook from him just last week. So its worth visiting the site every now and then especially if you want to be updated with friends whom you can't inter act with in a day to day basis.

Facebook is so important at this time and age. It keeps you connected to friends and relatives from across the globe and from years ago.

Hello,
I dont have facebook too, and I dont think it is important to have one. I dont want to get on there and spend all time writing what is going on in my life. some people would do that... and it nice though but just me that I feel lazy

I am on Facebook nearly everyday. I don't spend tons of time on it but I could. on all the trivia games and all the other stuff. I have found it useful in finding and keeping in touch with distant family members (distant as in miles and cousins I just never go to know) It's great! It really isn't that much work at all there is nothing to it! you are one of the RARE people who doesn't have one.. I am not sure how you can find it over rated if you aren't on it.
Don't you have to belong (to) or join something to Rate it?
I also use it to let my family and friends know about the products that I make and
with any luck boost my sales. So it can be used as a marketing tool as well. you have to make Facebook work for YOU. :-)

I have used facebook before... several times... not from my own account obviously... but for my husbands... he used it to market stuff and i found it all over rated. I've thought of making one for me but it seems like a lot of work and i know i'd never keep up on it!

You're not the only one without a Facebook account and likewise I can't really see the benefit of one for personal use, then again I don't really broadcast what I am doing to all and sundry online.
Though saying that it is something which does interest me slightly because it can be used as a marketing tool if you have your own website and so can see the benefits of it when used to announce new content on your website or blog.

I have had a Facebook account for about 2 years and I must say that I am addicted to it. I am on there for at least 2 or 3 hours a day doing different things. I am addicted to the games they have on there like Cafe World and Farmville. My wife even got an account because she was wondering what it was all about and now she spends alot of time on there. My 3 kids even have there own account.

That makes two of us Jennifer. I also don't have a Facebook account. I do see people around me with accounts, and I agree that it is too much work. Even my 9-year old has an account, and his too busy with his farm(Farmville).
The other social networking site that I do have is Linkedin. This is more professional, with people looking for and offering jobs. And it is not as time consuming as Facebook.

Me three. After a while, Facebook wasn't as thirlling as I thought. I'm an ex-user. but it's not Facebook's fault. It's just a social networking site. The people using it that sickens me, even if their my own family and friends. With nonsense and mostly vain updates, with 'accidental' slips of embarassing photos or comments....ergh...

I've met a lot of people who have said that and ended up becoming face-addicts. hahaha nah only kidding, because facebook is just a social tool if you learn to use it, it'll be very handy when you need it. Facebook is really useful specially because you can arrange meetings or parties or whatever you want there and it's free so you'll save a few dollars by not calling your friends, yeah I know, I can be cheap sometimes...

I dont really cae about my facebook account i only created it because my friends forced me to, i barely go on and when i do i do nothing expect browse pictures.
Facebook is not important to me, bu my friends find it interesting, i create a facebook about so i can just keep in touch with my other friends abroad.
For me The pictures are the only form of entertaiment, i dont play the games because i dont like the games there.

No you're not the only one that do not have an account. But you may one of the few who doesn't jump on every ban-wagon that the media hype for business. I myself do not have a Facebook nor Twitter account. I predict in a few years both will not be as popular then like Myspace who is losing steam.

im still new with what we call it here as "fb"...i thot about it really unnecessary before. but believe me once you have made one! it doesnt really make you an addict to it, but for me it kept me connected to my friends. and thats the most important thing to it. plus, its got different features that makes everything convenient in keeping me updated to my friends, even to those who aren't, or aren't yet close to me...thanx "FB"...

How do you know it's overrated if you don't have an account?
Seriously, I have one and I use it to keep in touch with people, but I haven't gotten into all the apps and things that people rave about. I'm afraid I'd have no life if I did...

hi jennifer!
don't fret i don't have a facebook account as well. i didn't have a friendster account even back in the day. really dislike social networking sites. the only one i joined was a paying social networking site. got paid for it but then the site fell apart.
just figured i have better things to do than stay upload my photos and my status online.
that's just me though.

Hi there Jennifer.
First of all let me just say YOU ARE NOT ALONE ! I don't have a facebook account and i don't plan on making one anytime soon. I don't like facebook or friendster, and i try to avoid them. I only made a myspace profile for the friends here on mylot to see a couple more pictures then i posted here, but otherwise, i think the hi5 account is more then i need :)
I have enough work on my hands as it is, i don't need the extra trouble.

I thought the same as you did. But once I tried the games, I am hooked. Now, I have more than 600+ friends for mafia wars only.
I constantly chat with friends there and it is a great social networking site, i should say.
