I prefer to wash all veggies before chopping them up. A lot times there be a bit of dirt and other stuff. So I just before and then rise them again afterwards. I do the same for potatoes if I am not going to cut the skin off. I scrub off the dirt and remove any buds forming.

Hello Cheiyen me too prefer to wash vegetables before slicing them, as its an good practice to follow. But it seems that in some types of vegetables we do need to wash it twice, means before and after slicing it.Noramlly we wash vegetables to get rid of the dirt, mud, other germs etc.Even sometimes have to wash few vegetables with some boiling water just for hygenic condition.Anyways keep it up with your mylotting and vegetables.Happy mylotting.

I wash the vegetables before slicing them as otherwise some of the nutrients present will be lost, if it is washed after slicing.

I wash my vegetables before I slice them. I've heard that you should wash them before slicing so that any bacteria that's on the outside of the vegetable doesn't get carried by the knife to the inside of the vegetable. I guess washing after slicing probably wouldn't hurt with most vegetables, but some vegetables wouldn't do well with getting wet after slicing- like tomatoes or avocados.

Always before and then again after if you want, you can never really be to careful when it comes to food especially if you plan to eat it raw or if it came directly from your garden.
