Are you a collector of something?

Some people are funny and weird. They don't admit they are collectors of things and by looking at their shelf you'll be surprise to find a whole collection of the same series of ISP videos or kungfu tapes or maybe James bond 007 series. Do you have any obsession for certain stuff and keeps collecting them only to end up in your shelf collecting dusts? If you want to make fast buck, find out what a specific group of people are collecting and sell them something in that same category. Collect the recipes from the net, bind them neatly and you will get your friend's money. Find people who already buy anti-aging products and you can probably sell them another anti-aging product. Although they will never admit it, they collect brands upon brands of anti-aging creams in the hope that one of them will work one day to make them look young again.

hi zandi I dont think its really weird to collect things, as I am an avid collector of beanie babies , and no they do not collect dust on a shelf at all. I am also not out to make a fast buck 'as I collected my beanie babies for fun, and they are all different. some of them have b ecome valuable over the years and I would not sell them at all. nO we are not all weird, we love 'to collect thats all.

I don't mean to say that being a collector of something is weird or funny but what I mean to say is not admitting to being a collector. They are habitual collector of certain stuff yet they deny that. Well, collecting certain stuff give immersed satisfaction to any collectors. But the denial part is something weird.

I thought you are in antique business. You are actually the curator of your own antiques and that makes your house look ancient with all the antiques placed around the house. You'll be a rich woman if you dispose them.

That's me. I had an antique store for about 12 years & i was my best customer, lol. I do think antiques are a good investment. My problem i don't want to sell anything i have. I bought alot but alot are family pieces & alot have been given to me. I use to barter hairdo's for antiques.

I am a bit of a trekky and sci-fi fan and I have collected Star Trek videos. I still have a video recorder to play my sci-fi videos on. Most new stuff comes on DVD these days, so now I have started collect them too! - Derek

video recorder has become obsolete. I remember Star Trek used to be aired in our TV channel way back in the 80s. They are good movies and wonder whether they are still in production.

James Bond 007 movies are no longer in circulation and it is nice that they found a nice home in your house to be kept and treasured. At least the new generations will know that they were great movies.

wow....keeping stamps since 10 years old. Nowadays not many children start this stamp collecting hobby. Maybe because people are no longer sending mails and stamps are not much in use now as the internet can deliver the mails with less cost and speed. Any thoughts of selling them? It will fetch a high price in the market, I'm sure.

Hi Zandi, i am into collecting stamps and coins, since from the age of 9. It started when my father give me a valuable present consisted of stamps and coins, which he had collected by himself when he was still young. I got hooked and interested to start collecting stamps and coins myself after i flipped through my father's stamps and coins albums. I started out by do some stamps and coins exchanging with my classmates. Later on, i started to exchange with my pen-pals as well. Now, they are all in my cabinet, as one of my precious collections. Hope i am not a weird person for having interest to collect stamps and coins, my friend.....

You are not weird. It is indeed a healthy hobby to collect stamps. Stamp collecting has been one of my favorite hobbies when I was young. It interesting to rearrange all the stamps according to the countries they belong and it is my first experience to learn the names of all the countries from all over the world.

I think the only thing I could be "accused" of collecting are books. I quite literally have thousands of books...books in bookshelves and bookcases, I use my linen closet mainly to store MORE books (only two shelves are devoted to actual linens..LOL)--then the bookcase in my bedroom, the so called knick-knack shelf is crammed with books...uh, well, you get the idea. I often look at them all and wonder, when will I find time to read them all? Granted, I have read a lot, but so many are just sitting there collecting dust. I actually have found one way of eliminating the books I have read. There is a website called Wish Upon a Hero here in the USA...people ask a wish, and sometimes includes their wish for some book or books...if I happen to have it and have read it, I give it to them. It makes me feel good giving something away free that I no longer want or need to someone who might otherwise be able to afford it. Oh and forgot to mention...my bed has a bookcase headboard...and yes, that too is crammed with books, save the middle section...my two cats seemed to have taken that spot over to sleep in.

I always enjoy my life in the company of books. They become my treasured property and never gave them away. Some of them are gifts from my children so they will always remain with me even though I have gone through them many times.

Books - that would be the big one. I have a pretty huge library. Every couple of years I try to weed through them, but I buy far more than I get rid of. Not to mention the approximately 20 boxes of books that I've gotten from my parents over the years!

Yep, I collect DVDs and movie memorabelia, not for any specific sort of movie just in general. I have shelves stuffed with DVDs and videos as well as books on the stars and mvoie making. Most of it probably only gets looked at once in a blue moon but I just love collecting anything to do with movies.

I have lots of CD's, DVD's and VHS tapes which i plan to give away as they are already obsolete ans their are out dated. I also have mail stamps which I still have to arrange in album as a sort of souvenir from snail mail. Also have recipes which i cut down from magazines before and still on the process on putting them in a scrap book.

I am starting to collect LOUIS Vuitton products especially bags and wallets. I fell in love with it. I have a collection of their "PHOTOS" hahahah. Well, they are so expensive you know. I can only buy this brand from the UKAY... UKAY means second hand properties marketed for a very low price. I am lucky to have 2 bags and 1 worn out wallet. Its really not worn out, but its needs sewing, so I am going to bring it to someone who sews leathers and will put designs to cover the part that is ripped. Hehehehe...

Well i'm not afraid to admit it but i love collecting figures not just any figures, Kamen/Masked Rider figures, Kamen rider is very popular in japan and in america. I've been collecting the figures since i was little but i only played with all of them ...and most of them are already broken. I just started collecting properly recently and i still need to expand, i know alot of people who collect kamen rider but compared to my collection it makes you look like a ant...
