there are people who love eating sweets........they eat too much sweets, different kinds of sweets deserts ice cream etc and end up getting affected by diabetics..so its alays necessary to maintain a certain level of intake of sweets so that it does not cause harm.
again diabatics is the root of many deasese and ultimately it starts affecting your kidney..so eating too much sweets is really harmful.do you have a nack of eatng too sweets??/or you dont like sweets at all or you are smart enough to maintain the right balance??

Hi, abhi Welcome to Mylot.
I can honestly say that I do not eat too much sweets. I crave for ice cream or for chocolate cake every now and then but I know I cannot eat too much, not really because I am afraid to become diabetic but because I just do not like eating too much of it. I like spicy food instead.
Cheers!

Yes, I do. I know this. One way I've dealt with this (because I know it's not good for me) is to limit myself to three cookies per day if I'm going to eat cookies. Of course, there are days (and I'm sure most people have them) when emotional circumstances or just plain calorie needs require more than three cookies. My assistant's all know that if I ask for five cookies I'm having a bad day. Of course, there's also holidays when diets of all sorts go out the window, and I don't consider myself on a diet. Three cookies is a reasonable portion for any person in any one sitting.

I used to like sweety things, especially chocolates and cakes. But that stopped when I got older. I cannot explain why but i just started disliking stuffs that are too sweet. Perhaps its the body's way of protecting me from further harm :)
My opinion is that there is a misconception is that diabetes is caused by sweets. Though too much of anything (especially modern-day processed foods which contains loads of chemicals) can over-work our organs and lead to many disorders. Too much sugar intake can indirectly lead to diabetes as a side effect of obesity though.
Diabetes may be caused by a genetic disorder (hereditary) or even a virus infection that inhibits or destroys the functions of the pancreas.
The key, i think, is a healthy lifestyle. Eat things in moderation, exercise, relax and be happy. That is the first defense line.
As long as we keep ourselves healthy, we can eat ANYTHING :)

Hello abhiabhiabhiabhi me too earlier in my childhood used to eat a lots of swets and chocolates.Recently only got one tooth pulled out at an dentist, which was decayed because of sweets and chocolates.Well am really fond of sweets as its easy to eat, and also is mouth watering with sweet taste to it, we also got variety in it, so its just unresistable.Even though its hard to control over the intake of sweets, am able to eat in balanced proportion to my diet, as might face the problems in my future.Me too nowadays eat sweets but in very less quantity, means only am tasting it and not eating as did in childhood.Anyways keep it up with your health and mylotting.Happy mylotting.

I have actually cut down on sweets as of late. It was not a decision that I made. Otherwise, I think I would have wanted to eat them more. It was just something that happened. I only really eat sweets when I have finals coming up. It helps calm my nerves and helps me relax to study, instead of stressing out. And of course, around Halloween and Easter, I get some candy then.
