Do you think people are honest?

I think that most people are reasonably honest...most of the time. Hardly anyone will not tell a 'white lie' to avoid hurting someones feelings or to save themselves from embarassment. Who owns up to farting in a crowded room? Then there are those who are habitual (or pathalogical) liars, who probably don't even know themselves what is true and what is false. These people thrive on complications, stirring up the hornets nests in life and believe every tabloid that they read. They enjoy gossip more if they know it's not true. Everything in their lives is an emergency, usually because of their own actions. I try to keep an open mind and to want to believe people. At the same time I was always taught to take everything with a grain of salt. Is it little wonder that at times throughtout history salt was more valuable than gold?

I think everybody is capable of lying personally I like to say how it is and be honest with people even if it gets me into trouble which it has on a few occasions lol, I think there are also some people who lie to make themselves look better than they actually are but that is life I guess.

Well I know these days it is hard to believe on any one. Every one seems to be lying for some reason or the other but still when some one tells something to my I just believe that he is telling the truth may be because I am a truthful person. I don't like lying.

yes some people are honest in life as they are not realistic in nature but they think in such a way that they generally become Honest

well to be sincere eventually everyone lies all the time, i actually dont border myself if they are liars or not, the more you worry about things like that the more you worry you personal life. just do what you need to do and forget about that. and some times too un knowingly we say things we might not want or wish to say all to protect ourself. but i would also finalize this by saying that it is good to say the truth no matter what becuase its worth it. and it makes you a better person and you feel cool about yourself. thanks

Generally speaking, I do believe they are not. In general we tend to deceive other people, just because we think of ourselves and nobody else!

Well, I always think people are honest, or I choose to think that. Some of my friends always comment that I am too innocent sometimes, but I always think why should we not trusting others? It's really sad if we always think others are lying or we think others are treating us bad. We are all living in this earth, though there are some liars out there, I choose to believe human are born to be kind and nice. Well, I don't remember when the last time I found out someone has lied to me, or I just didn't find out if someone did. If I really found out the person has lied to me, it depends what kind of lie he has told me, whether it's serious or not. But then I would be more careful next time when he's trying to tell me something, as this person is not so trustful anymore.

Hi, 3cardmonte. Yes, I think that some people are liars. And others are not. If they sound like they are telling the truth, then I may believe them. If they seem like they are very deceptive, then I may not trust them completely. People may lie to me all of the time and I may not know it. The last time that someone lied to me was last year. This girl from my church was supposed to let me use her car so that I could try for my road test. Well, she told me that she was going to meet me at the DMV but she never showed up. She instead took her mom to the store when she knew that she was supposed to be meeting me at the DMV. I waited on her for about 45 minutes and she never showed up. So, she lied to me about her coming to a location but she never came there. I don't like when people lie to me. It makes me not want to ever trust them. And when they do decide to tell the truth for a change, it will be very hard for me to believe them, being that they have lied so much.

yeah i dont think too many people are these days, they will lie and steal to get what they want. what ive been seeing and witness i think more and more people are just being more hateful and spikeful and they think about themself, people wont go out of thier way to be more nicer and kinder to others

a person lie's every quater of a minute in this world!

At first, I always think that they are honest to me. This is to give them the benefit of the doubt. But once they lied to me, my trust is hard to earn again. Maybe, I will forgive them in time, but I will still doubt about what they will tell me. When someone lied to me, I was so angry and even think of cursing the person.
