hotkey.exe...virus??

My computer keeps doing this weird thing. I think I may have a virus. A couple times a day when I am working on my computer a box comes up. It says something like cannot load something or other.. It says something about hotkey.exe not doing its job. Any ideas how to fix it? disabling notkey didn't work either. I have to totally reset my computer since when the window displays there are about 20 of them that come up. They will all close but one. Then I have to manually shut down the computer. Any help?
