Is ashish nehra necessary

Is Ashish nehra really necessary for the Indian team because I think that his performance was not up to the mark in the last few innings. But the indian team is not taking any steps in seeing his performance. The effort which the spinners are making in controlling the runs is tottaly destructed by the fast bowlers especially ashish nehra. So the selection committee must look forward in selecting nice bowlers for the indian team.

any way now he is out of the team. he is just in the squad as a reserve

I think Ashish Nehra is a bit of an impact player. That is he can perform for one or two games in a series. So rather than playing him regularly, the Indian team mgmt should use him more to give rest to one of their senior bowlers for one or two match per series. I do not think he has the consistency to play well for 5 or 6 matches at a stretch.
