some people only pray when they are in trouble. some people (like me) pray all the time. my hubby has a job interview today and we sat down and prayed about it before he left for it.
i work at a Christian non profit organization and we have a morning time of prayer each work day. we even pray for insignificant things like the photocopier if it is not working!
how about you?

I believe wholeheartedly in the power of prayer. I pray to God daily, and many times a day. I have been known to pray for something that many would think was silly, like an empty handicapped parking place in front of walmart or that an electric shopping cart will be available without me having to sit on the bench in front and wait.
I pray for my friends, those who are hurting or sick, or just those that I love and want to see blessed beyond measure.

Hi cher, Prayer can mean different things to different people, and I feel that we are praying all the time, in other words life itself is a prayer. I have no problem with prayer in the sense that you speak of it but to me thoughts are the same as spoken words and action is prayer expressed. Blessings.

Well I feel Prayer is very important, and a Great way to end and start any day. I find it is a good way to communicate with god and Thank him for what is going on, and to ask him for things I might be needing in my life right then as well. I also Pray for people I know and others, and feel that life can never get worse with prayer. People just need to Trust god thru any situation and believe he is in control.

Every day, I just pray for strength and wisdom. Strength to endure everything that I am going through in my life; and wisdom to know which way to go. Sometimes, I do pray that my family is safe, including my parents back home.
Goodluck to your husband. I hope he gets the job.

wow!!! that's really religious.
In my heart and thoughts I pray to God sincerely with great respect to him. I know in my heart God answers prayer but in due time. When you pray, you alone. In a private room or a place no one disturbs you where you can relax and state freely whats your request, intentions or ask something to Him. Through prayers you accept God,he is your Savior. Through prayers we can express gratitude towards Him. When you pray God is watching and listening your whats your heart speaks.

I tend to be one of those who prays when in need. I will find myself once in awhile saying a prayer for my deceased father. He's been gone 21 years and I still miss him so much.
One of our kids is having all kinds of tragedies with her in-laws and their family. She recently lost her father-in-law and is about to lose an uncle on that side of the family. She has a close friend, for many years, who is losing her mother-in-law to cancer. I have said prayers for all who need it right now.
Hope your husband's job interview went well yesterday.
Have a good day,

I am wary of praying for things not working. We do pray for the hands of the doctors treating someone, as well as the spread of the gospel. I pray for the salvation of my loved ones and family, to manage my budget, I pray that I would be a nicer person (grouch!) that miracle baby that I could not give birth to. I do not pray for that computer I want, but that comes into the prayer for managing my budget wisely and that is a result of that. I prey that good leaders would be found and bad leaders would consider their actions and change. And of course for the Kingdom of God to come soon.

I find myself praying alot more now than what I ever have and sadly I think that is due to going through a really tough time this summer. In the past I would only pray when I was in need or really wanted something, but since this summer I find myself praying about a lot of things and there less selfish prayers too. I always hated when I would pray just to benifit myself or when I needed or wanted something and I would tell myself I'm going to start praying more often and then I wouldn't. Now it just seems to come to me. Most of the time it is on my drive home from work. Still don't do it as much as I feel I should, but I have definitely improved!

hello, cher913!
i do pray specially at the church on sundays. i honestly don't pray a lot for myself but for peace and the good health of my family specially my mom who's almost 70, the safety of my boyfriend whose job is dangerous, sick family members or friends, friends who ask for prayers for a special intention and etc. i also pray to ask signs before doing something important once or continuously like a new job, making decisions, doing a performance, etc.
i haven't prayed for machines who don't work though. i do check what's wrong with them and try to find the source of the problem.
however i had been extremely active in a community before so i understand why you pray for the copier if it isn't working.
praying for me isn't only about asking, it's about saying thanks for all the blessings or for an answered prayer.
god bless you!

i was asked one time how do i pray? do i need to kneel down, close my eyes, pray out loud and long?
i answered them that depends on what are your intention why you pray, is it for petition? thanksgiving? personal prayer time? etc etc
for me i prayed even my eyes are open, i only kneel and pray when am at the altar asking personal petitions. or asking forgiveness from the things i've done.
i pray for everything, whle driving - safety, while teaching - for wisdom, patience and understanding.
we should be prayerful may it be for small things,or great things that's what my mom told and is telling me since childhood.

I have two basic prayers.
Thank you and HELP!
I pray quite often. Thanking for the food I find, the items I gather from the forest, the aloe vera that keeps my rosacea from making my face feel on fire. The in trouble prayers are less often. More lately. Mostly praying for help for a friend who is quite ill and for me to be able to afford to pay my bills.
