Sales have started two weeks ago here in France. But I'm so in a tight budget that I don't even dare to go to the shopping mall in case that I got carried away. Have you guys been in a tight budget that you should suppress yourself from buying anything that you need in everyday life?

I think most of us are under tight budget now after all the celebrations we all went through. I have to tighten my belt as I am financially tight now. I wish I had not overspend during the holidays as this month sees a lot of sales going on in the malls. They are disposing most of last year goods for new items to come in to the store in preparation for the Chinese New Year festival soon. But I can only satisfy my desires by just going for window shopping without buying anything.

hi zandi I was just remembering how my hubby a nd I used to go window shopping when we were first married and had little money. I always enjoyed that with him as he had a rich sense of humor and had me laughing all the time. From france to China I am connecting this morning, and loving it. Here in the US I feel so insulated until I come onto mylot and can talk to all of you all over the world. its great.

A tight budget is a very well known situation in my family. That's because I still have to support my boy who is a student. I make a list every month with what money comes in and how much I have to pay and spend for living. We calculate everything and still there were days when we had to borrow money for a short time for unexpected needs. It's stressful!

hi lilmuchang oh yes I am indeed on a very tight budget. I am here in this retirement center which takes most of my Social security and SSI checks, and leaves me with one hundred twenty five dollars a month for personal expenses. so that is what I have to work with. I do have to bite my tongue and turn away ]from some things that I actually need until the next time. ah such is life in this crazy economy. we are not along I am sure. I am here in California USA you in France. small world any more.

Yeah, with the Internet France and USA doesn't seem that far anymore. It's good to know that I'm not all alone in this. Blame it all to the economic meltdown!!

Being a student, my budget is usually tighter than a gnat's rear end Sorry for the sickening description. Anway, yeah it sucks being on a tight budget because you always seem to spot stuff that you really, really want, then reality hits you and you know you cannot afford it because of increasing debts and bills that need paying. It's depressing

Our cats go without prevention from fleas ticks and other harmful incets because we don't have any money to spare. George wants to use the money we do have on things we don't need, and I'm not making any extra money except from what I've earned here on mylot. So it is a bit depressing if you ask me. I also need a lot more money. My cell phone for example took an unexpected bath and now, I have to use a deffective phone because It had an accident, not that the one I was using was much better.

HI lilmuchang , Yeah, most of the time in tight budget especially near end of the month.Money flow out just like water into the drain. That's when i control myself from going out altogether except to work.Skipping to shopping mall will be just fine but if there's a sale at end of the month,it's so hard to control. What if the sale are the stuff you been wanting to buy for so long?Wonder if everyone got the same problem as i did?

I'm not really on a tight budget but I generally know how much I should spend and how much I should not spend. I try to only spend the amount of money that I need to spend and rarely anything more. I hate spending more money than I should. It's not like at this point I don't have any money and that I can't pay for anything, I'm just preparing for later when I'll have a lot of other things to pay for and will need to worry about those. So I'd rather spend only a bit.

Yes, I guess everyone of us are in a tight budget because it is hard to live this days. All have problems with money and doing anything to earn more. I don't spend much for materials things. When it comes to clothes, I try to reinvent my dress that I use at work. Sometimes when I am wearing a not so good t-shirt, I hide it with my jacket. Actually I do not care if I don't look someone that is 'in" with fashion. I do not care anymore, because what matters to me is to save money, and I am saving for emergency.

I have not experienced a day free from this worry. The rising cost of living and still higher expectations are having more & more stress on our purses. But I have done one thing, I have stopped using credit cards, surrendered all cards and working with debit card only which does not allow me go scot-free but keeps financially fit.

this is a good discussion. my answer is a big YES! i am really in a tight budget. i mean, my salary is just for my transportation fare. i don't go to shopping malls either. the only time that i go shopping is going to grocery stores. that is not even shopping for my wants but my needs. is is just me? or everyone? lol

My husband and I currently have a tight budget mostly because we're trying to save some money. If we find something on sale that is a really good deal though we typically buy it. It'll save us money in the long run! I love the sales this time of year. Especially after the holidays you can find such great deals. Might as well buy it now and save some money on it rather than buy it next year when it's right back to regular price!

Things are really hard for me right now. I don't have a job and I'm pretty much out of money. I've had to cut back on everything, even food. I am holding on to every penny I can right now... But I have a job interview tomarrow...so wish me luck :)

With supporting a large family we are constantly under a tight budget. The income never seems to increase and the cost of living does. I have begun to hate grocery shopping im constantly evaluating if the total cost of a meal for us is going to be cheap enough. I hate mailing bills out because i know its going to drain the checking account. It gets scary sometimes when you have to make a choice between the electric bill and the gas bill. Not sure whats going to happen with this world with hard economic times. I have started researching several ways to live more frugal and to plan meals on a budget thats ment for a family half our size.

Yes I definitely am. I just started working recently for a new company and pay is coming soon. Of course since I do not have funds, I stay away from malls to lessen my chance of buying new stuff that I generally do not need. But like yesterday, I had to meet a friend of mine but had no choice but to eat out since I had a long way home and was already hungry. I had to shell out funds that was not necessary as well as pay for parking and stuff. Thus, less money again to reach a few more days until pay day.

Yes we are on a tight budget because my husband just got his job back about two months ago. But it is almost my favorite time of the year, income taxes. We get a lot back because we have two kids and it really helps us catch up on our bills and be able to splurge a little. Just in time for Valentines Day usually.

Yes, I am on a budget. Saving money in case there is a downturn is important and I cut corners whenever possible. I buy something special for myself rarely but most certainly not as often as I got to. Got to cut every corner in case everything gets worse. Hopefully it will not but you just never know with the economy.

Hey, tell me about it. Talking about tight budget, I am in extreme tight budget, and I have to work extra hard to making money, and I need pay for all the utilities, and I have to come up some money to pay for my cellphone, and also the internet fee monthly. Gush, I just don't want to think about these figures anymore. It seems hard for me to saving a little sum of money, even though I want to try harder.
