No matter what service is done for you do you feel you have to tip?If you have your hair done or go out to eat do you feel you have to tip?I feel like I do if the person performing a service for me is all nice and does a good job.How about you ?Do you feel you have to tip even when the service was terrible?

I only tip if what they did for me was cheap or when I am very happy with what they did. At restaurants for example, I hardly tip, that should be included in the price, unless, when I get my food in 10 minutes, instead of having to wait for more than half an hour.

I don't tip when I'm poor, but if I did it would have to be greta service and I do think at restaurant it's included in the price, because it's kind of expensive to go out to eat.

Of course, when you don't have a lot of money and you hardly come around yourself, it's obvious that you won't tip.

Honestly, i do not feel obligated to gave a tip because of his/her service. If the person or someone giving a service in work for their job, I guess there is no reason for his/her to have a TIP. But if the person do a extra service and not part of it's work and I Found it nice doing it. I think that was the right time to give a tip. If you have enough money as you can give with all your hearts. One example of i'm talking about is this situation. My father go to a barbershop and ask to cut his hair. After the service the barber man massage my father in the back. At this case you will able to see that the man give extra service. That's why my father give a good enough of money because of that deed.

I'm not really use being served at...so yeah I feel that I should give a tip just for thank you, specially when the person did a really good service and was really nice as well.

Yeah , that's right! Sometimes by saying thank you is already enough for the extra service that is given to you. In addition, I'm sure she/he will a good welcome to you that come in his/her hearts.

There are certain situations that I feel require a tip. Obviously things like restaurant service, but then also things like limo drivers, hair stylists, tattoo artists, bartenders, etc. All of those I would feel obligated to tip, even if I wasn't pleased with the service! I work as a pet sitter and dog walker, and I do get a lot of tips. I don't necessarily feel that you are required to tip your dog walker. I have clients that never tip, I have clients that always tip, and then I have clients that tip only if they needed my services at the very last minute or the job required me to really go out of my way for them. I definitely appreciate tips, but I never expect them!

java I am not much for tipping as I am on a very limited income but if the service was really great I will leave a tip, but in a place like Burger King no not at all. let the employers pay their employees as they should. its not up to me to do so for them. but in a good restaurant thats another matter. good service deserves a good tip.

For the most part I do tip for good service, as well everyone should. However, I do not feel obligated to ever tip. If I receive good service I will leave a customary tip, and if I receive excellent service I will tip a little more. But, If on the other hand I get bad service I will leave little or no tip. Just because someone job involves getting a tip, doesn't mean anyone should be guranteed tips or people should feel obligated to give one. Just like anything else people who do their jobs well should be recognized and rewarded. Those that don't, should not.

No matter what service I have received, I prefer to give a tip. No matter how big is the tip...I think it depends on the service that you've received. I have worked two years before like a waiter. I was 18 years old then. When I was servicing people, 90 % of them gave me a tip for the job. Here, the salaries are not so big, so people really give tip. It could be just 1-2 coins, but you feel great. Next time you could give the best of yourself for the person who had already given you a tip.

I know for people in the food service industry many of them only make a couple of dollars an hour.... so I can understand tipping them on one hand. On the other I can't see them not giving people atleast minimum wage & then making tipping optional? I dunno I feel bad if I don't tip unless the job was badly performed. But I also feel bad because life is expensive enough & hope the person doesn't think less of one of their customers because they can't afford to tip as much as others can. I know my mom used to go out for breakfast & would leave a $5 tip for a $5 meal KWIM? Where I'm lucky to even go out for a meal nonetheless leave the tip too!

I do usually feel this way. When people are operating in a service business, they usually are not getting paid much as a base rate, and although they may perform the service poorly, I still tip them, because they are doing their job (albeit badly) and need a paycheck. However, the amount of tip I give is definitely correlated to how good of a job they do!

I think with the current financial crisis that the world is facing today, it is not anymore your obligation to leave a tip. As long as you pay for the services that you asked from them then I think it is not wrong if you will not leave a tip. Anyways, they are being compensated by the company that they are working. And you payed for it, anyways.

I see it as just the opposite. The servers are probably in a world of hurt financially and need your tip even more these days. Their employers do not pay a living wage. They depend on your tips for their livelihood. If you can afford to eat out, you can afford to leave a fair tip.

Every time I ever eat out, I feel pressurized to leave a tip behind for whoever served me, despite the fact that there is already a hidden charge added to the final bill entitled "service charge" I will more than willingly hand over a tip if I feel that whoever is serving us has done an exceptionally good job or has put a lot of effort into giving me the best experience possible, but it oftens feels that I HAVE to give them a tip, rather than whether or not I feel they have deserved it

It really depends, tip depends on a lot of factors. The quality of the restaurant, food, service, attitude of waiters, politness, ambience. I usually leave a tip, the better the service, the higher the tip. It's really that simple actually. I always leave a small tip for the 'normal' quality of service, unless the restaurant was an absolute disgrace. As far as other methods of tip goes, i always leave tip unless the service was too expensive for it's standard.

I leave a tip if the person that served me was in a very good mood or if his service was good, I usually want to tip more than i usually tip but i always go back on that thought. Sometimes if i'm in a good mood then i would tip, but if i'm not no tip, Sorry.

I do. Whenever I get a haircut, hot oil, hair spa, I give tip to the hair cutter, another tip to the person who shampoo and blowdry my hair. I leave a tip also in restaurants. I don't know but I feel it's a way of thanking the persons who give me good service.

I don't normally give tip, the said practice is not part of our culture. But if the services given to me is impressive and I can see that the person really love what he/she is doing, in good mood, and would make effort to entertain his/her client. With that I am encouraged to give higher tip.

A tip is a token of appreciation for any service rendered for you. So it is meant for unsolicited favor done with initiative in good faith. i do give tips even if service is terrible, but a bigger incentive for doing with extra effort with a smile on their faces...happy lotting...

My giving of tip depends on how much I like the service. For example, in a spa where I had my massage, when I feel great after the massage, I give bigger tip, but if I am not happy with the service, I give a smaller tip or sometimes none at all. In a restaurant, if service charge is already included in the receipt, I do not give extra anymore.
