Recently I got an invitation to join a Facebook group called "Keep Facebook Free!" And it goes on to explain how there's this threat of Facebook charges 14.99 (Euros) per month for a membership. I didn't join because I think this idea is ridiculous. I don't think any social networking site that expects to be popular would ever charge it's members to be on the site. That's my opinion. I think, in all honestly, it was some person's attempt at getting a lot of people to join their Facebook group. A cry for attention, maybe.
What do you think? What do you think the chances are that Facebook would EVER charge it's users $14.99 a month? (technically "euros" according to the lame facebook group). Do you also think it's total bull?

I think Facebook should start charging people that say that $14.99 a month.
The first time I heard that ridiculous rumor I searched everywhere and anywhere to either prove that it was true or as I found out disprove it.
There's no mention of Facebook charging users anywhere on The World Wide Web........except from the groups starting those rumors.
What i did find though, was that Facebook pulls in 350 MILLION DOLLARS A YEAR!!!
That's like A MILLION DOLLARS A DAY!!! and that report was from a few years ago, so it's probably more now.
It just doesn't make sense........if they started charging, 99.999999% of their users would just go somewhere else.
Nearly ALL users quitting = NO MORE $1,000,000 a day = NO MORE FACEBOOK!

They won't ever do that, believe me..
There are enough other sites alike, and people will just jump over.
So if i were you, Don't worry.

I dont think so because facebook is a social site and there's no other site in the net that requires their members to pay on a certain amount, that's false info, dont ever believed it, maybe its a trick to get facebook down,

I agree with you ..Facebook would never charge us with that huge amount especially now that its population is greatly increasing everyday. Every social networking site does not charge anybody..They are always free. I wonder who made that group .

i also received this kind of cause and signed up. but i personally do not think they would charge because most people will just quit if they have to pay. right now, more people have already quit some games because they already grew tired of them.

There are absolutely loads of these groups on facebook at the moment, I have seen at least two or three of these groups all with different amounts they are saying that facebook will charge. If facebook were to start charging then they would lose a massive part of the people that use it so my thought is why would they risk that?. I have seen other places that introduce schemes where a person can pay so much a month and receive extra benefits that free members would not get. I think that is the only way that facebook could do it without losing anyone.

I've gotten that one in dollars euros and pounds and of varying amounts. It's a hoax.
Face-book will never charge. To charge would put them at a disadvantage with my-space. My-space will never charge either. Also anything you get that says to invite all your friends then you can ____________ is a hoax.

I like Facebook but I will definitely stop using it the moment they charge me.
I do not think Facebook would ever charge its users. They are the ones who keep the business going and if we they would be charged, then they would surely disappear in thin air. Groups who ask for money are hoaxes and I wish they could be stopped.
Cheers!

Ha Ha Ha, It is the biggest blunder I have read today, dear Maezee, just think dear a social network site, which is earning huge by providing service free, why will charge? and that is also 14-15$, uuuuuhhhhh. There is very big competition already in the social network site. I don't think any thing silly will be done by facebook.

hi maezee,
I 'm a Facebook also but never got any invitation about joining and membership fee.I guessed that's a hoax from some con man creating a fake networking website.
If they ask for any payment, please don't pay. There's just too much of scam nowadays that sometimes i just don't know which one to believe.
If Facebook really did chatge for membership monthly,it'll start losing it's popularity and it's page ranking will drop soon...

I have become sick of all these groups, It will never become a subscription site as long as someone good like Mark Zuckerberg is in charge. It is just scaremongering from stupid users.
