I have often thought it would be cool to meet my favorite movie stars and such. I would love to meet Ellen and Oprah and Jeff Bridges and so many other people. I used to have a huge crush on Don Johnson long before Miami Vice too! Oh ya! I used to think he was so very hot! I found a company(before sites) and got his address. I wrote him many letters. I was losing hope when one day afew months before he was to star in MV I recieved a white manilla envelope with a picture of him a letter. I was so excited and actually followed him for several years into his popularity on MV. Now. Not so much. I also got a nice letter from a popular Science Fiction writer, Andre Norton. She had just published a new book and wanted my help in get it out to the public. Have you ever heard from a celebrity?

Yes, I've met Vin Diesel several times. Well, it was in my dreams, but it still counts, right?
As much as I would like to, I have never actually met any of the celebreties I like. It is not like Bulgaria is set on the road to Hollywood, so the chance of meeting a celebrity is slim to none. I have met some of the local celebrities but not my favorites once, so I guess I will just stick to my dreams

...Hi celticeagle, I was in Houston, Texas once conducting a class of bank examiners. Across the street from the hotel was a theatre where Richard Harris was performing in Camelot. I went to see it. The next day I was on the elevator going to my room after shopping, Mr. Harris got on with two friends, but I did not recognize him. He decided he would make me know who he was and he actually started to sing "the hills are alive..." I was so shocked, I started to shout no, no....., he was so happy that he gave me his authograph, and was getting off the elevator at the wrong floor. It was funny, but I was thrilled, I was personally serenaded by Richard Harris. I never forgot it. I got a kiss on the cheek from Mandy Patakin and met tennis star Arthur Ashe, once when he was giving out autographed pictures in Philadelphia. Take it easy.

I have personally met a few local celebrities. I asked them if I could take a photo of them and have also a photo of us together. It is really very amusing to see celebrities in person. I was star-strucked!
Hope to see more celebrities.
Have a nice day.

I met David Hasselhoff once, but it was after his prime. It was still pretty cool, though, he was really nice and happy to meet with a group.

Yes, I have met a few- mostly for pictures, autographs after concerts. The Nelsons quite a few times..
But I got to meet Dylan McDermott about 12 years ago when he came to his sisters children's christening. And we all got to hang out in the back yard...
Oh did I mention, His sister is one of my very good friends- we worked together... :-)
My mother was really excited about it and was taking pictures of everyone and was a little frustrated with me because I wasn't all that interested in getting my picture taken with him. lol
I said "Mom, he's just Robin's brother... and she tells me all the stories of how he used to tease his little sister when they were growing up.. so I wasn't super impressed.." lol Anyway NOW if I could meet his co-star from HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS... Robert Downey Jr... Tht would be another story entirely!

yes, but not a so famous celebrity, only a person from a local television, but i didn't stop it to sign something, i don't care about celebrity and other things, i think that a normal person is important as a celebrity, maybe more, if teh celebrity is only a bad and stupid person. can be pleasent to see a person that you have seen in a movie or something like this, but this don't change your life, celebrity outside the set is a normal person like all the others.

Well, I did almost run into a local radio DJ as I was coming out of a McDonalds one time. That was the closet encounter that I have had with a celebrity. Also, George W. Bush was in town one time when he was president, flying in on Air Force One from across the street. I could see him coming in from the front room window. Not sure that counts, but you can't really beat the president, even if I actually did not see him up close.

I've been on the same plane as the Danish queen, but I can't really say I've met her. I've chased the horse of the Norwegian princess around the stable after it threw her off in a show jumping competition. Apart from that I've seen some politicians and apparantly we walked into Richard Lugner at the carnival party in the streets in Vienna, but most of use were to drunk to notice.
So not really any interesting celebreties yet :-/

Hello Celticeagle,
Yes Ive met John Lennon when he came to Montreal for the bed-in. My dad was working at the airport at the time and I got to see him up close and get an autograph.
I also met a few singers known only in Canada and France.
I have lots of autographs because of my dad: Luciano Pavarotti, Tom Jones, The Beatles, Andy Kim (wonder if he's still alive lol), Tony Bennett (more for my dad than me lol), a few more but I dont remember now.
Oh and I saw Robert Plant when he was shopping in a store.

I've only met mini-celebrities. Local celebrities and "celebrities" in the sense of a few punk band members. Jorge and Jake from the Casualties, Lars Frederiksen from Rancid, Fat Mike from NOFX, and a few others. They aren't big time celebrities, but they're big in my book, anyway!

She was real young; it was during his 1988 presidential campaign. Her father told her to shake his hand. How was she supposed to know? So she just grabbed it, shook it, introduced herself, and it just fell limp. Her father totally yelled at her for it.

Well, it depends on what you consider a celebrity. It can be said that a celebrity could be local, or known worldwide. But what would you guys consider a celebrity to be? Could it be just someone down the street that is well known for his/her shop or store? Depends on what you guys think.

Well, us guys think that anyone you feel is a celebrity would be a celebrity. Up to you and your feelings of celebrity.
