Can you drink coffee at night and still get to sleep well?

I drink a cup or two in the morning at work if I can get the opportunity, and some nights I will have a cup or two at some point before I go to bed. Even with coffee in my system, I can still get to bed well enough. My Mother says that she does not know how I do it, and that she cannot get to sleep well if she has coffee so late in the day. What about you? Do you drink coffee at night, and does it effect how well you are able to get to sleep?

I'm actually drinking a cup of coffee as we speak and it's 10pm here! The only reason I'm doing it is because I have Wednesdays off, so I can stay up late and sleep in a bit more than usual if I need to. Typically coffee wakes me up in the morning and if I drink it at night it keeps me up later. Like I said I don't mind it on nights I don't have to be in bed by a certain time but I'd never drink it on a night I have to go to bed for work! lol I usually drink coffee in the morning. It's nice to have a hot drink on a cold winter morning, plus it helps me stay awake!

For me, it gives me a small boost in the morning if I need it, but at night it does not bother me one way or the other. I am tired and I am going to sleep regardless of whether I have had a cup of coffee or not. I gave in and made a cup for myself, as well. All of this coffee talk, you know.

Its actually the same way for me lol. I don't usually drink coffee, but if I did, I would still be able to sleep. The coffee would have no affect on me or my body. My sister, however, is different. If she drinks coffee, she is up all night. Both coffee and energy drinks have no affect on me. I am thankful though. I don't want to be dependent on those things as I get older, you know?

Hey, mate!
No. I can't. Actually I don't drink coffee, because I'm sure it's not good for health, you know. Only my father drinks it. He drinks it very often, so for him it's kinda easy to drink 2-3 cups of coffee and than still get to sleep great. I remember that about 3 years ago - I was stressed, so I drunk little cup of coffee in the evening... It was one of the most terrible nights I ever had. Noises in my head, headache, time was ticking very slow.. OMG. TERRIBLE!
Have a nice day, mate!

HI! I don't drink coffee very often, I mean I don't drink it every day, but 3-4 times per week. Well, I have drink coffee at night several times, even earlier I have drunk and another one, and even then I can go to sleep without any problems! Coffee doesn't effects me recreative! I drink it just because I like how it tastes, and not because I feel tired or sleepy!

I think that everybody is made up different and therefore coffee will affect some person and don't affect the other. If I am studying for my exmas all I have to do it take two cup of coffee and I can go all night and study and I would never fall asleep.
However, my friends told me that they try that and sill fall asleep so I think think in all fairness it is the way your body work.

Hi Valenas, I am happy to inform you that you are not alone! Me too. Caffeine doesn't seem to have any effect on making me stay awake at nights. I guess for me, when I want to sleep, I just fall sleep, regardless of whether I drank coffee before bedtime. So coffee to me is just like another other beverage.

I have no problem drinking coffee anytime I want to drink it, and then going to sleep after. If I'm tired, I'm tired, if I'm not tired, I'm not tired. I can drink coffee in the middle of the night if I want to, and if I am ready to go to sleep, I can with no problems at all.

I think it depends on what kind of coffee do you want to drink at the night time. Actually i never feel if i can't sleep even after i drink a cup of coffee. I can still sleep well after i drink a cup of coffee because i only drink a cup of plain coffee, or sometimes i've to drink cappucinno. I think if you add much sugar and make your coffee seems hard, perhaps the sugar level will make your blood circulation getting slowly and then make you feel like asleep. Whether we can sleep well or not after drinking a cup of coffee is also depend on what was our activities before we drink that coffee. If our body is in tired condition, no matter how many cups of coffee you have, i'm sure you can sleep well after it. Have a nice day and happy mylotting.

hello valenas,
I am a coffee addict,i can consume 5-10 cups of coffee in a day.
But,when i am drinking too much coffee,it's purely coffee alone..no sugar and creamer added.
And yes,it doesn't affect my sleep,i can still sleep at night after drinking 3 cups of coffee before going to bed.
But,i also know some people who can't sleep when they drink coffee before going to bed, while other's need to drink a cup of coffee in order to get sleep.
Very odd...but it does happen.
Have a good day always

I can drink coffee anytime and have a good sleep. I am used to drinking coffee at least twice a day. I was a heavy coffee drinker once, when I used to consume at least 5 to 6 cups of coffee a day, but now I have reduced my consumption of coffee.Of course I have never taken coffee in the night, but I usually take my evening coffee by 5.30 to 6.30 P.M., and have a sound sleep.

Hi, Valenas.
It depends if I am tired enough or not. When I am really tired I will sleep deep even if I drink coffee or even if it's noise around me. I drink coffee everytime I want and I don't have any problems with this. Honestly - I don't drink coffee every day in late in the day, but I can sleep well with or without drinking coffee.
