taking a bath after heat exposure (like in the kitchen) can make you sick?

Hello Everyone, I work in a restaurant for a month already and I'm assigned in the kitchen. During break time i wash my face and when I arrive home, I take a few minutes rest (about half an hour) and then I take a bath before I sleep. Is it a bad habit? I mean, can you get sick if you wet yourself after exposure from heat? Thanks in advance. Anton

Hi there and welcome to MyLot! I've never heard of this before but I have worked in a kitchen and would not hesitate to run a bath once I arrived back home. I like really hot baths (everyone is different) so, perhaps if yours was a little cooler it would be ok?

Hi.. I don't think that's a bad habit. I mean, you didn't take a bath right after you get the heat exposure, but you take a few minutes rest before it. So your body temperature already getting cooler when you wet yourself. I think what cause the sickness is the extreme change of the body temperature. If you take time for your body to become cooler before you take a bath, then your body won't experience an extreme temperature changes. And that means you won't get sick because of that habit..

Yes it's not a good habit taking a bath after heat exposure or if you're tired. You'll experience body pains resulting to flu or cause of rheumatism or atrithis. If you worked all day or was in the kitchen just wipe your face or body with towel after a rest but never take a bath. You can take a bath the following morning.
