I just came back to myLot yesterday after a three-year-long leave, and I found out that quite a lot of mylotters have ratings. I admire them. And from yesterday till now, I also spend some time on rating their posts "positive". So, I'm curious how many people will spend time on doing so. And if you do, how often do you do it?

No I rarely do it at all. I don't do it because I try to spend all of time posting so I can earn but if me doing the ratings could help my earnings and others earnings then I would start to do it. Any idea of the benefit of us rating.

Aha, thank you for your honest, jambi. I don't know whether it will do good to have high rating or not. But I think someone's rating can reflect his/her post quality. Most people will rating it POSITIVE only when they think it's really good.

Well to be honest if it doesn't really effect our earnings I probably won't do it unless someone posts something that I really like.

According to mylot FAQs, the rating system is an important factor in our earning algorithm. So, according to that information, one who has a higher rating will earn more than one who has a lower rating, given that they have posted same quantity post of same quality. So, the higher the rating, the higher the earning. Personally, I have not seen much difference. Maybe a little but hardly very prominent.

Welcome back, BANBAN. Any mylotter who have crossed the 100 mark will get a rating. You are currently on 85,so just a little bit more. Nice to know you have rated others positive. I also rate others positive. I rate anybody who responds to my discussions (except for most oneliners). I also rate other members' discussions if they are good and interesting. I rate when ever I feel like the person deserves a positive rating. I however, do not rate negative, nomatter how bad the response or discussion is. I report it, if it is against the guidelines, but do not rate negative.

Thank you for your reply, sagnik. Now I know the rating system better. :) I think do rating is an action of encouraging people to be more active. Is't nice of you to be likely to spend time doing so.

In a way it makes every body inter dependent. Everybody has to depend on other's evaluation. Mylot has no role in this. For more information check out this link http://www.mylot.com/o/faq/faq17.aspx
