not everybody likes to eat meat for sure, but how do you handle yourself not to be tempted to eat? do you have other alternative food to replace meat in your diet? how does it affect your health as well?

I was vegan for a while, but now I'm vegeterian. I have never been really fond of red meat nor of most seafood. I do need protein and iron in my diet- which meat and animal proucts are usually high in- so I like to eat beans, tofu, soy products (what my friends call "fake" meat, lol) and occasionally eggs and white meat fish. I have never been that fon of milk either, but I do like yogurt and cheese.

I once saw a recipe for deep fried tofu which was marinated in chilli and spices - have not tried it yet but that might add some flavour to it.

I like meat and would find it very diificult not to eat meat but I do set aside vegan weeks where I do not eat meat and dairy as part of a kind of detox. My favourite is lamb but I do not eat lamd or meat everyday - I eat more chicken and fish.

Sound like a good way of cutting down on meat this will be a good way of doing it, then you can still enjoy it and you will probably enjoy it even more.

I don't particularly like the meat, and for the change I eat eggs. Meat for me too much fat that makes my head became dizzy as too much to eat. I like simple food such as tempeh, tofu, potatoes, or good to eat.

I like meat! I am a meat eater actually. However, I have been training myself to change my diet so I am taking more vegetables and fruits in order for better digestion as well. What I can't overcome right now is obesity due to too much meat in the past years. Hopefully the fruits and vegetables can at least stop me from growing more fats all over my body!

meat is really so tempting to eat but avoiding it as much as possible can give us a longer and healthier life as well. maybe you can eat once in a while or have it mix with vegetables. do not eat purely meat because it can cause some negative effects to our health like hypertension and heart atttack because of cholesterol build up.

meat..its not an inevitable part in diet. its a part of diet ,as its a good, tastier, nutritious food and many items are prepared out of it. i know many of my friends who hate it.but they can simply replace it by other means. its nutritious value can be replaced with green leafy vegetables, fish etc. many of the dishes made by meat can be made up with other things. there is always alternatives to one thing. but meat is always meat.

for me it's ok to eat meat but i cook or mix it with vegetables. and in the house i only buy meat once a week or once in every two weeks depending on the budget and price of the meat in the market. so at least once in a while we eat with my family with meat because we can still get vitamins from it.

I don't eat meat for many reasons. I will make it short-I don't eat my friends... I consider all animals as my friends...

hi rosey. I don't eat meat because of many reasons. First of all I don't eat meat to protect my health. It is much healthier to eat tofu, soy, whole grain bread, tempeh and other vegetarian food which conatins a lot of proteins but has no cholesterole. when our stomach digests meat some toxins are created. When someone suffers from aching joints it helps a lot to avoid meat. when it comes to heart diseas and cancer, not eating meat reduces probabilty to suffer from this diseases. It is very important to plan a vegetarian meal wisely. eating a lot of vegetables and fruit can't be unhealthy. second reason to not eat meat is the fact, that animals suffers when they live in factory farm. Nowadays animals live in bad conditions with no ability to be outside a cage and see a sun. It is inhumane in my opinion so I am verygald that I don't buy meat. I love animals and I can't imagine to have a cat or dog who I love and I don't want to hurt him, but to eat intelligent animal like pig (which is as intelligent as a dog). I would be a hypocrite if I do so. the last but not least thing is the fact, that plant food costs less than meat. one pound of meat costs about four times more than the same amount of bean. So the main reason for not eating meat for me is the fact that I protect myself from many disases this way. I don't eat meant for abut 2 years now and I feel much better and I don't get ill almost at all. i had a strong ache in my knee joints. My ache dissapeared when I stop eating meat and I don't have this problem anymore! Less toxins in our organism means less suffering from many diseases. I also feel really good with the fact that no feeling animal was killed to become my dinner. Have a nice day, jazgottt.

I agree with jazgottt post. Those are the same reasons I don't eat meat. Also, protein requirement is a myth, we don't need as much as many people believe.

it's good to know your reason for not eating meat. that is you value your health and you value the life of the animals. but they are animals they are mean to be one of the foods by human being but i also understand your feeling. that is your opinion and I cannot argue with that. thanks for sharing your ideas. good day.

that's how i did when i buy some meat i mix it with vegetables so i still have the protein coming from the meat. I never tried tofu because i don't like the taste but they said it is more nutritious i hope i can manage to eat it someday.

actually im not into diet so i eat anything as long as its food. i only eat common meat in the market like chicken, beef and pork and i dont like to eat any aside from thses specially those they considered as exotic meta like snake and others. meat helps to warm our body so its advisable to eat it during cold days or winter. theres nothing wrong to eat meat but must watch out for the level of intake.
