mylot seniors ~ there r so many new members with repetative discussions

I agree that there are always a lot of those familiar discussions going on often started by newbies but I've always seen that as the case. New members come they post a few simple discussions such as "What's your favourite" but don't really realise how to get the most from myLot. I try not to let it get to me and have found a way round all those repetitive discussions. I go profile hopping, looking at those who respond to my discussion and trying to find one they have started which interests me. I also look to see what else they have responded to and often find interesting discussions through doing that. It has the knock on effect of getting yourself known amongst those who have gone past posting repetitive discussions and in many ways is like foing effective networking.

I haven't been on here for a long time. Truth is, I joined Mylot for the extra dollars I earned. But when I learned that there was very few discussions that interested me, I got frustrated with it. Then I noticed that the cents earned seemed to have gone down (It may have been my imagination), and that's when I stopped coming in here for a couple of months. It just didn't seem to be worth my time.

You know Sanjana, it is becoming quite difficult to respond to a genuine discussion now days. At least you are managing ten responses. Some days I am not even able to respond to more than five. Today also I am finding it quite difficult to respond to any discussions, and it the same trend continues, I might take a break from mylot for some time. It is becoming a boring place.

I do understand your predicament. There are too many repetitive topics in circulation which are mostly nonsensical but draw in many responses while those more serious ones that needs extra brain juices to respond gets pathetic responses. Thus we only see light discussions hitting top discussions as they draw in good responses to qualify them to be on top discussions. While those more serious ones will not get to reach the top if they lack responses. I think the admin should revamp their strategy to allow those serious ones be pushed to the surface so they will get better exposure.

Yeah, I agree with you. I think that's because every day there are many new members join here. It may sound a little boring to reply the similar discussions, but at most times, you get the questions solved for new coming ones and encourage them to be more active here. In that case, it sounds worthy. :)
