Hi dhanasekart, I have been using the same mobile number for more than twelve years. I like this number as it's not only easy to be remembered, it's also a lucky combination to me as well Before this I had changed my mobile numbers for several times. It's really troublesome and every time I got new mobile number I had to consume some time to inform my loved ones, relatives, colleagues as well my friends, so that we still could keep in touch with them when it's necessary. Therefore it's not advisable to change cellphone number frequently. Happy posting

It's a common practice for people here to stick on using the same number, especially the number is significant to them. People usually change their mobile number only when the number is giving them problem.

If you have enough reason to change it often, why not? And if there's really a need like if there's a threat in your life or there's someone you want to get away from for personal reasons but it can't do good to your other contacts as they can no longer locate you unless if you inform them of your new number.

I dont change number often because it will just give me inconvenience also with my acquintances. Changing number often is only a good choice for cheating individuals hiding from person to another because of love, debts or any related reasons. But if changing is really needed like when your mobile is lost, or a sim card is destroyed then no problem at all.

I don't think so because your contacts/friends/family/relative will be confused on what number you are currently using. So I won't suggest changing numbers often, My parents once scolded me for changing my phone number, I mean, changing a number needs practical reasons like, loosing your phone etc.,

In my view it's not advisable,if you change the number often means your old friends contact will be cancel at the same time your relatives or anyone want's to contact you urgently means it is problem ,they can not pass the urgent message to you for your importance, like these you can't get,if you change the number often ,in my view.

Celebrities change their mobile numbers quite often because they face lot of nuisances from fans. Even politicians change fearing for tapping of phones. Otherwise I do not see why anyone should change their numbers often. It will create problem to them.

I do not advice to change phone number often. My cellphone number is been with me for 8 years, i never replace it for the reason of I want my long time friends to be able to contact me when they need me. Some of them are in abroad, they may contact me on my email, but if they lost my email, they have my number.

its been five years iam using the same number.. the reason why this thought popped up is i received a msg from my friend that he has changed his number and wanted me to note down the new number this was the 4th time he is changing his number that too within few months., the reason was he found a new offer in that network

Unless you are a politiian, big time business man or has such threatening job I cannot see it is necessary to change your mobile number. well of course its all case to case basis but i think its hard to change number because its not easy to inform every one important to you specially if you have lots of friends whom you don't see much often. you might loss contact with them or they may not reach you when they need you.

Hi! I think it depends. If you feel like somebody's been harassing your privacy through your cellphone number (like if you got some kind of a stalker or something), then it's advisable that you change it very often. I once had an experience before where someone sent me very harassing text messages. At first it was a harmless one. It happened a day after New Year's. He (or She) texted me asking how's it going and that he's my classmate in college named "Mark". Well, he got a bull's eye alright coz I did have a classmate in college named Mark but the odd thing was, I knew Mark wasn't the kind of guy who would just text me out of the blue to check how things were going. And so I texted him back and asked him what his last name was and when he replied, he said his full name was "Mark Herras" -- (Mark Herras was actually a famous Filipino celebrity at that time). Then he added some really nasty sleazy messages to me! I really felt like I could puke at that time! Gggrrrr!!! I was so angry. I felt like I was really harassed so badly. I knew that answering him back would only make him happy and feed his perverted mind so what I did was just reply to him a "Happy New Year and God Bless You" message. The next few days he kept texting me again with more sleazy and perverted texts but I just ignored it. After a few more days, I decided to change my cellphone number coz I wasn't able to take the abuse any longer. But after like a month I missed my old number so I inserted back my old sim. I've actually been using my old number since I bought my very first cellphone. Thankfully I haven't been receiving text messages from the 'stalker' anymore ever since I switched back to my old number. Anywaysss...I guess what I'm trying to say is that changing mobile numbers may only be necessary if it is necessary. For instance, celebrities and other famous people change their mobile numbers often or use 2 or three separate number for their families, friends and businesses. I myself do find it rather annoying if someone keeps on changing his/her number and I'd have to update my phone book again. But I'm sure they have their own reasons for doing it =)

I don't think it is a good idea.Friends can't not keep in touch with us easily if our mobile numbers changed frequently...
