Do you like the way you walk?

I was sitting on the food court of a nearby mall, waiting for my little sister to come while eating an icecream.
Actually, we were already at the mall but I asked her to go back to our house because we forgot something.
Even if she has a cellphone, mine was broken, so basically we have to talk about our meeting place and we decided that I'll just wait for her at the food court.
Waiting for someone like this seems uncomfortable for me. I was used on making constant communication with someone I'm going to meet. Like texting from time to time to know where she is and to figure out how long I'll be waiting.
And one more problem that time is that I don't know where's the exact direction my sister would be coming from. There are lots of entrance that are possible for her to enter and I don't know where she will go.
With that, my neck was beginning to ache due to continues stretching it out, looking for any image of my sister. After a while, every person walking towards me seems to be of the same image. I can't even determine if the person is a girl or a boy anymore.
So, that was when I decided to think about something that would make it easier for me to find my sis.
Until, it occurred to me that my sister walks uniquely. I know that almost everybody walks just the same, but if it's your own family, someone that you're always with, you will see the difference.
So, I decided to notice the way every people in the mall walks. I don't have to stretch out my neck anymore. I will only have to look at their feet and observe the way they walk. BINGGO! That was easier :)
Oh well..this thing just got me thinking. As I observe the way people walk, I see the real difference. Some people walk with pride and confidence. You can see it on the way they lift their foot. Some people walks very fast like they are running for their life or something. Some are very social, like they are walking in a catwalk... And a lot more!!!
It really amazed me and made me suddenly think about the way I walk. I am just a simple girl as I always say.. And with that I can also say that I only walk casually. Sometimes I changed the way I walk - trying to imitate someone's way of walking. But I always end up walking the way I really do. There's nothing more comfortable than walking your own walk :)
HOW about you? How do you walk? Do you like it? do you enjoy walking?

I am not really that conscious when i am comfortable walking. I may not be smart looking when i walk but as long as i am comfortable then there's no problem with that. And may i add, the pair of shoes that you use plays a big role in achieving a comfortable walk. =)

yeah, you are right. Sometimes the way you walk really depends upon the foot wear you're wearing.. you can walk casually on flats. but if you are wearing high-heeled shoes, you have to be more careful and try to walk decently.

I actually hate the way I walk, it's awful lol. My arms tend to sway like I'm marching or something and I once watched my wedding DVD at Mum's and I winced with embarrassment because then I could watch what everyone else has been watching for years! I once told a workmate off (who was old enough to know better) a few years back. As I was walking towards him he gestured with his arms..impersonating me he was. He thought it was funny but I was embarrassed, so I said to him, "Phil, I don't go on about you looking ancient with your full head of grey hair so don't you ever take off my walk again, it is a form of bullying and I don't like it!" It worked!

Hahaha... you are very frank janey! I like that! Sometimes, we don't like the things we do but never really wanted to know that others don't lie it too! Haha

I'm too honest for my own good at times lol. This is why I'm not too fond of posting videos about myself on here. The whole point is that it remains anomymous. If people were to hear my accent they'd laugh and probably won't post any replies ever again...let 'em think I'm posh!!

From a fitness standpoint, I really do enjoy walking. It is really good for you and it is easier on your joints. That said, as far as the way that I walk, I don't particuarly like it. For one side of our family it is genetic to walk with our feet threw out to the side so that we kind of look like a duck. This is something that I've been conscious of for a long time and I try to walk with my feet straight when I am thinking about it just so that I will have better posture.

Ooopppss! I don't mean to be rude! But I really laughed out loud at the word duck bec. that is exactly how my sister walks.. It was soo adorable and cute to see when she was still a little girl...But now that she is already a grown-up and taller at me at that matter, I think it's funny..but still cute!

Hi invisible lady,
yes, i like the way i walk as it builds up my posture as i walk being erect and having lot of confidence the way i do. Thinking nothing, but enjoy my walk watching others and interacting with them in a positive manner.

I think that everyone has their own way of walking.Their own path in its own way, there is no night or wrong.A man, too,go their own way regardless of how others say.

Your discussion is interesting.
I don't pay much attention to people's walking. Aha, maybe next time when I'm waiting for someone, I can have my eyes to see how people walk. :)
I don't know how to say my walking, but I have to say I don't like it. The reason for me to saying so is that if it's raining or if the road is dirty, I can get thoese dirty drops "imagically" up onto my pants... I don't know how I make it. I even asked my friend to see how they show on my pants, and he still didn't have a clue...
Anyway, I like walking which is helpful to keeping fit. :)

Ow! You're right! Walking is one way of keeping ourselves physically fit! That is a good habit. But I hope that you'll be able to walk better when it rains. :) so that you won't get your pants dirty again!!!

hi invisible lady well the way I walk now was not the way I walked ten years ago. About seven years ago I ruptured the tendon on my left foot. I had a quack for a doctor who did not know a
ruptured tendon from his own behind and he called it a sprain. well it was not, and I had to finally get him to send me to a foot specialist who said that I had a ruptured tendon and now it was inoperable . so they put a brace on that shoe meaning I have to have s uper expensive ortho shoes with the foot cast and all the rest. I used to walk with a casual gait and an indian style of walking , one foot ahead of the other. now my right knee is bowed out from my left leg being in a brace so my walk is rather ugly but its the only way I can get around. No the way I have to do it I can truthfully say I do not enjoy walking, its a real hazzle for me.

Ohhh... that doesn't sound so good to me... I hate people who pretends they can do something even if they can't! And to think that it might affect somebody's lifetyle!!! Urrrghhh that doctor must be out of that job! He doesn't deserve it.. I'm sorry about your foot :(

Hi Invisiblelady
I think you are right that each and every person walk in different way, but you got a good idea watching to the people how they walk, which is appreciable. I walk casually as you do. I don't look either bad or good while walking, so I don't think I should change my way of walking. I do enjoy walking. Have a nice day.

Everyone is different and the way people walk is no exception. Everyone also has a different way of handwriting, smiling, talking, etc... That is what is so great about us - nothing is exactly the same. I love that there is nothing exactly the same about me in the whole world. I am who I am and why would I want to change myself to be exactly like the person next to me. I don't want their life, I've got enough challenges with my own. The way I walk, talk , eat, feel is mine and that is something that no one can take away.

No I dont really like the way I walk. I'm trying to walk more better because I need to put my legs closer together. I walk well my sister has told me that I walk like a guy, but I dont know she just may be lying to me or trying to get to me. Oh well I will have to practice my walking from now on. I love it how models walk though because they have practice walking a lot before because they have to look poised no matter what. So that they could walk neat not sloppy on the run way when people are watching them.

Ooopppsss!!! Sisters can be that cruel sometimes! Haha. But I guess trusting their insights cannot do bad to us. And since it seems that she is right, you should listen :) yes, you can really practice to walk like the models if you want to! That will be great!
