chetan bhagat and 3 idiots

I watched "3 IDIOT" movie,it was an very good movie.... but were rumours that that movie is a copy of chetan bhagat's book "3 MISTAKES OF MY LIFE"......... I haven't read this book, is it really true that this movie is copy.....

hey this is not 3 mistakes of my life this movie was based on book '5 point someone' by chetan bhagat. i think movie was obviously taken from that book only and even chetan is paid by producers of 3 idiots around 3 lakhs. movie is based on it and it is obviously copied around 40 percent.
