It seems like on-line process is very much adopted by everyone. That almost every transaction is done thru on-line. Buying, selling and so as, researching is being done thru this method. Aside from that, even job hunting is being done on this process.
Now a days, you can now apply a job on-line. Some company's are welcoming their new staff thru the resume / curriculum vitae being submitted on the internet e-mail ID. That they are accepting job applicants thru on-line registration and posting.
In line with this, do you try to go on-line job application? Is this more effective rather than going personally to apply for a job or sending it by fax?

Hi there,
I applied to my current job via an online job directory website. Applying for a job opening via the Internet is easy and very convenient. It saves you the trouble of being a walk-in applicant in different companies. Based from my experience so far, online job applications is effective and efficient.

Now, all the IT companies welcome job application only through email. Some companies give you chance to post your resume in their portal. My first job was through online. So, I didn't apply, but my resume was given by my college. I applied online for my second and third job. I think that now all most all the companies welcome online applications other than walk-ins.

Not me but my hubby has his CV on the net but its not been of much use. Actually face to face interview is still the best…a lot of calls from companies have come which are not suitable both ways.

yes, i have applied a number of times. i think the last times i was looking for a job, i was applying only online actually. i think most of the companies now, especially the bigger ones are doing it only this way. i know it can be a bit IMpersonal but you still have the interview after that to prove yourself in person. i think this is better way nowadays. good luck!

Yes, I have applied and actually gotten a job through an online application. They called me and I had to go through the interview process at their facility, but they had plenty of time to look over my application and check references before I ever entered the door.
Many companies do not have large human resource departments any longer and are working with a skeleton crew. With the amount of people unemployed, the companies do not want to deal with hundreds of applicants at their door. Many companies actually post a sign on the door that says they will not take applications in person.
Years ago, you could walk in, fill out an application, get an interview and be hired all in the same afternoon. Now they drag it out for weeks and even months before hiring anyone. The internet is a good way for you and for the employer to sort out the employment possibilities without wasting each others time.

Hi,
What have you said is very clear and true. And I agree with you, that the internet is a good way for you and for the employer as well to save time and effort.

I have done several on-line applications. I actually got an interview at one of the sites. The others I just got a standard "we got your app" email. I like going in and filling them out. I guess I'm a little traditional, in that I like to actually like to speak to a person! However, it is nice to fill out the apps at like 3 in the morning while wearing my sweats and sipping a mug of coffee!!

Yes,I have tried it a few times but only got one reply. The reply didn't really fit at all because it only offer so many one hour part-time job only.I think it is useless. And it is not good enclose too much personal information online too.You never know whose going to read it sometimes.Well,in nowaday getting a job is not easy and it is better to earn some money online. That's not a bad idea but if anybody wants to earn a living online,it may not be that easy.It can only be supplement or extra income.Have a good day.

Yes, I am applying jobs online, via emails because I think it is faster compared to snail mail but some of my friends still prefers snail mails. As I am still in-between jobs, I have been using the internet to find any immediate opportunity for faster proceeding. But effective wise, hm... I do really think it applies to all online openings because some of the jobs opportunities are actually due to a system-repost situation (where the system automatically repost an opening). Thus, the opening might already have closed but we don't know.

Hello,
I used to do that before and I got a call though. But it turned to be a job that I dont want to do... something have to do with sale(door to door sale) I hate that so much.
I think you should go down to the place and ask for it and then do the fax or online application is better.

I've heard of some places now requiring you to fill out an aplication online rather than filling out an actual hardcopy. Ive never done this but it makes sense to me with respect to convinence. I have applied for a job/enquired about a job via email which I guess could qualify as the same thing.

most of my recent jobs were taken online..i find it easier and not time consuming..and i am able to maximize my time by applying to a goo dnumber of companies rather than spending time in going to one company for the whole day yet uncertain to what the results be...
through online you will be notify for interviews and sometimes they even do an phone interview where in you don't have any cost to...
it is more convenient for me..

Yes. Since many companies post their vacant positions on line, why not apply for a job on line? It is more convenient and economical. Actually I got my current job this way. I sent my resume to the HR Dept and they asked me to come for an interview after reviewing my qualifications. Then I got it. This is the advantage of mordern development.

I have never tried that but I know of some people who did this and succeeded. They say this is more successful as this directly reaches the person-in-charge of hiring and you could get an immediate response and possibly get hired.
