Has anyone ever seen this movie? I finally had a chance to watch this movie from beginning to end! I always would catch it in the middle or near the end. Wow I must say this is a great movie with lost of suspense and great music to go along the tension between the two sisters just jumps right out at you no denying that they hated each other on the movie as far as real life I read that actresses Bette Davis and Joan Crawford had a feud going on about who was a better actress. But I must say in this movie they both did extremely well.

I have watched this film but it was a long time ago (not when it first came out you understand) lol. I watched it on the telly in the good old days when classic films like these used to be shown all the time..usually in the afternoons! People had the patience to sit through films with loads of dialogue. These days if there's no action (therefore no plot) many become bored very easily. I don't know how old you are but if you're young then I am pleased that you have found such a wonderful film to watch...and hope you see many more.

To be honest, the black and white films I refer to were on the television before the onset of satellite television, so it would be way back in the early 1980s I would think. I know there are specific satellite channels showing black and white films, channels such as TCM (but not all the time). I wish someone would come up with a 24 hour a day channel like that, I'm sure there'd be many takers. I don't tend to watch telly during the day so I don't know if black and white films are shown then, my friend.

This is a great movie that I love to watch everytime its on. Was it on or did you rent it? They were both great actresses back in the day. I always liked Bette Davis more then Joan Crawford. There are so many movies with Bette Davis that are so worth watching because she was one of the best ever.

Katherine Hepburn was probably one actress who could give Joan or Bette a run for their money although she is probably a little younger. Hepburn could also do comedy and great with Bogart in African Queen, Spencer Tracy in Adam's Rib, and John Wayne in Rooster Cogburn. She played opposite Tracy several times including in Guess Who's Coming to Dinner, Tracy's last film.

Yes I loved Katherin Hepburn and Spencer Tracy together. Their movies together were some of the best. I loved "Guess who's Coming to dinner?" I have seen that movie numerous times.

Years and years ago I did see this movie from start to finish. This is one of those great suspense movies that will always be considered a classic. Yes, from what I remember hearing, those two did have an ongoing battle. They were both really strong personalities and both were great actresses. I was a teen when I saw this movie and to be honest I don't remember much about it other than being really on the edge of my seat.

This was an excellent movie with both ladies playing a great role. Another good one, in case you've never seen it, is "Hush, Hush Sweet Charlotte" with Betty Davis and Gloria De Havilland, if you like the older movies.
Yes, I do remember the feud between them, wow, that was so long ago. Some of the best movies are from way back when.

I saw Hush Hush Sweet Charlotte years ago in a movie theater when I was a kid. It was a bit scarier then. Betty Davis and Joan Crawford were pretty much rivals in their timeframe. Neither was particularly sexy so they competed for th more srious female roles. In general, Betty was probably more highly regarded and that would make Joan jealous. Joan Crawford also does not come off as a great person based on Mommy Dearest.

hi to the both of you first thanks for the movie info I will check it out ! and yeah as far as mommy dearest I think that movie broke her career. because doing that time I don't believe that child abuse such as that was really brought to the public eye. It was not spoken about and for her to be so famous too.

Hi,
I always remember my gram talking about that movie and how it scared her. When I was a teen I watched it with her and it was just different to me and I liked it . From what I can remember she was jealous of her sisters success and wanted to be in the light herself. Nuts! I should watch it again now and I am sure since older it will have a different meaning. Those actress were wonderful I agree!

I love this movie..I try to watch it at least once a year when the classic channel is running either one of the actresses marathons. They were both so great. I can't think of too many of the actresses today that could pull off the rolls the way these two did.

yeah i really dont know who could pull it off either especially with out all the glitz and glamor of Hollywood. oh wait I know who Kathy Bates she would do a great job I loved her in misery smile I think she would be good playing either one but I would like her to play Jane.

hi apgh09 yes a long time ago a nd it was a really great
'movie with two top movie actresses too. I had read that Bette Davis and Joan Crawford really did not like
each other and were fighting maybe that gave them more
impetus to do a great acting job which they really did.
I wanted to bop both of them at times. It really was
a very great movie.

hi me too i wanted to pop them too at times but you know the wild part if the ending that really tripped me out! Jane is going to take her sister to the beach to die and in public but no one paid any attention at first. And then when they do find Jane shes dancing and stuff. talk about family love ha ha ha
