On Saturday past, I just lost my dog Balou. He was an eight year old lab/rotti mix. He was not sick, and still very healthy and active. Saturday morning we awoke and he had pooped on the floor, which he never does, and he was drooling and his belly was swollen. We took him to the vet and after x-rays and ultra-sounds, we had to put him down due to cancer on his spleen, heart and liver. All so sudden. I truley lost my very best friend. He knew everything about me, and I was able to tell him anthing, with no judgement.
Any one else deal with the pain of losing more than just a pet lately?

I'm sorry about the loss of your friend. They start out our pets and end up closer to us than some family members. The grief and mourning are just as real when we lose them. We have a Saint Bernard and I know our entire family would be devastated were something to happen to him.

That is so sad. You know what my tears fall down when I am reading your story because I remember my first dog maybe I was at the age of 12 years old and I really love my dog pampisaw. He is very loving and sweet.. And I cry so hard when I saw him not breathing anymore. It really hard for someone who loss a real best friend.. Now I have 2 dogs and i really take good care of them and love them as my babies. I just can't imagine if the time comes that God will get them from me. I hope they will stay forever with me.

I'm sorry for your dog, that's so sad. When I was a teenager I had a dog that was hit and killed by a car. That was so sad for me.I had trouble getting over my dog.I know how it feels to lose a dog.I lost mine many years ago,but I never forgot about it.Dog's I think are the hardest pet to lose because they are man's best friend.I'm sorry to hear about your dog.
